I'm a software eng. I've seen a ****ton of grads who don't grasp basic stuff, and I think the desire to create a more cast of "diverse" CS grads means more HCI and program managers and less actual technical stuff. I feel like 50% of the CS grads I meet want to be program managers cause they cannot program their ass out of a crackerjack box.

lol in high school I used to be able to use command prompt and hack other peoples computers in our computer labs. Loved putting sites like meatspin . com on peoples computers while they were out using a hall pass to do something. Cant do that anymore though in most schools due to their systems being way better now.

This is wrong srs. Ignoring the fact that you are calling functions for which you didn't supply code for and could have expressed in one line with a modulus comparison, the way you've coded this, the third else if statement (FizzBuzz / OP is a ******* and likes cawks), can never be reached.

It also prints out 0 to 99 not 1 to 100...

I can assure you OP, you are not alone. I work in R&D as an EE and we have been searching for a software engineer for over a year. We have interviewed countless applicants, none are even remotely qualified. Even mid-career folks. I truly do not understand.

I graduated in CS, and my job involves zero programming. There are a lot of jobs in the tech field that require no/minimal coding. Most upper level CS courses require zero programming. We're all gonna make it bro!

CodeAcademy.com is decent for beginning and you can download books online. After that code academy pro is nice and treehouse is really good.

u dont need a cs degree to learn how to program/code
but u need to know how codes work or programs work (thus knowing how to make your own) to get a cs degree

what school did/do you go to OP? theres no way u get a cs degree from my school without knowing how to code, even a minor. even the first core class of CS.... literally 40-60% drop out of that class lmao. u NEED to know how to code

Had a friend who graduated in CS from an A list college, and during his 3 years , he only created like 3 programs during the cmpsI and CMPSII and the rest was all plagiarizing, paying money to indians to finish his projects

yep, if you want to work on a cool program, try developing a software that searches the web for key words every X minutes.



Say you want all links related to Python programming to be sent to you , etc.. its an easy program and very helpfully. set refresh rate every 3 hours or so
