My order of priority in purchases right now is gtx msi 1080 lightening -> 1440p gysnc monitor -> upgrade storage so I'm not in the greatest rush of doing it. That being said, right now it looks like i'll either do dual samsung 950s or wait until intel optane comes out and see if it's anywhere near the hype intel is throwing at it
id rep you but i'm always on spread with you lol

Anyone notice Google Chrome just gets sluggish after a while? It's always blazing fast on a fresh install of Windows, but then becomes sluggish. I have hardware acceleration off and I always clear my cache/blahblah. I'm thinking of maybe shafting chrome and using a different browser if this can't be fixed.

Pick 10. As I just had to reformat my W10 SSD I could not use the same CDkey that is for W7 that I upgraded for free from. Microsoft makes you resintall 7 then use that CDKEY and upgrade to 10. I said FUK that and just went and bought a W10 cdkey.

The best editing computers start with the graphics card. And now that most applications now offload to it for a great deal of the work including rendering, that will be the meat and potatoes of your system.
If you can afford it, got go pro card. Although its not essential -- in many cases -- it can be important when money depends on it. After that, get the best monitor(s) your can afford.🎥

Ok so put the computer all together and the cpu cooler I got doesn't work with my pinset even though people in the reviews said it would ordered a new one but won't ship till the 16th. I couldn't get it to fit with the resistors on the mother board blocking the bracket from seating. So with the case sides off I fired it up to go to bios to check everything. The fans were sort of clicking and I had a fan error and none of the fans were running right. Then the power supply started clicking and whining. The cpu temp started shooting up to 90C, and within 2-3 minutes had to shut it down. I figured I would have enough time to install Windows without the cooler, in a 70F room with both sides off, is that not a fair assumption? It's obvious I got a bad power supply so already ordered a new one from amazon and begun the return process on this one. Could the temp issue be caused by the PS? By the time the power supply comes in I should have the cooler in hand as well as the gtx 1080

Lot's of reviews already, but this just shows how "bad" the 1070 is, also when you take into consideration the price they are taking outside of the US, it's a total blooper and a ripoff.

You definitely need a heatsink and fan on your cpu, dosnt matter if you have your case sides off and you live outdoors in Antartica, the heat source is too concentrated. Even a heatsink with no fan wont last long just in the bios
Fan error was because of no fan plugged into your cpu fan header
Toshiba have a 1TB pci-e m.2 drive but probably pretty expensive and 1 alone could max out a pci-e expansion card unless it can do 8x pcie and your cpu and mobo can handle that alongside a graphics card so raiding 2 may not see much performance gainsLast edited by J3remy; 06-12-2016 at 05:51 AM.

I love how that chart is comparing a mildly overclocked 980TI to a bone stock clocked 1070. Seems like a fair comparison.
BTW The MSI Gaming 1070 X gets 4600 on firestrike ultra before further overclocking. Also keep in mind, the GTX 1070 replaces the GTX 970...not the 980 TI

I don't know about outside the US, but prices here have matched so far what Nvidia initially claimed. The prices are probably jacked up on some websites right now due to lack of availability.PC Gaming Master Race

K fellas, mouse recommendations, go!
Been a die hard Razer Naga fan since 2010 since it has all the buttons I need for WoW. But I haven't played WoW in several months, and this Naga is failing (again).
Price under $60.

In terms of actual "advantage" over others? not in my experience. But the difference of enjoyment of typing on my topre realforce vs a dell $10 rubberdome keyboard is absolutely worth it. But i'm a CS major so I spend the majority of my time with it. Same with mouse. properly shaped mice and the increase of comfort are the selling-points for me.
I mean yeah there are macro keys and whatnot of course.MS, Computer Science

Think it depends on your expectations. What kind of jump in performance were you expecting vs the 9 series/titan X determines your opinion if they were a let down or not. I don't have first hand knowledge with the 1080 seeing as I'm still waiting on mine but I haven't seen any critical reviews outside the cooling issues on the FE and by mad 980TI users lol. But on the other hand, we know most reviews are gonna be favorable when they get the product early and in most cases for free. Lower power draw and higher performance seems good to me.

I'm really considering selling both my xbone and ps4 and only playing games on my pc now after they're pulling this upgrade chit. Only problem is I'd need a Roku and an xbox or ps4 controller for pc after I sell my systems so that's $150 gone right there. Fuark sony and microchit
On a side note, how do you think SLI 970's will run BF1. I only have 1 now with a EVGA 750W Gold psu. You think they'd be ok? It's probably better just to try to sell the 970 which I probably wouldn't do and just buy a 1080. fuk

Mechanical keyboards feel and sound better to me.
Mice definitely offer an advantage, if you get the ones with extra keys on the side. My Razer Naga allowed me to use 36 keybinds with ease, pretty essential for an MMO, imo.
Is this it?

For $50 I might have to try it out.
They were a let down for me, but I had unrealistic expectations set in place by me never having experienced a GPU release before.Last edited by PositiveCrew; 06-12-2016 at 05:48 PM.
