I'm liking pinterest less and less. Somehow I end up follow fitness boards that turn into a barrage of "lose your pooch in ten days" or "30 days to a squat booty" and "this detox will shed fat, tone muscle, buy you a house, make money rain from the sky where ever you stand, and turn an animal of your choosing into a unicorn!"

Some might say I'm aging quite well for an octogenarian lol. I use FB too but have my profile private and have another name, just in case any patients try searching for me lol.
I went on Pinterest for a while, pinning lots of motivational quotes, then I lost the motivation and hardly go on any more lol.- Fallen Angel -

It was my day off today and I was due to meet up with a friend for lunch, but her daughter wasn't well so I got the day to myself. I was quite glad really as I felt so tired when I woke up this morning. I was having some weird dreams, one of them being that I was dating Matt Wenning! This is the second dream I have had about that ha ha, very random!
Mid-morning I decided to do Limber 11. I hadn't done it in a while and couldn't really remember the exercises. I went into it thinking 'Ah, this'll be nice, a few good stretches to set me up for the day'.....well dayum! I was out of breath at a few points, I forgot how tough some of the stretches are! Need to do that more often I think.
My head's in a bit of a negative place at the moment and it would have been easy to just sit around for the rest of the day. I knew it was best to get out the house otherwise I'd end up thinking too much. I took Cookie out for a walk which was nice as it was quieter than usual at the place we went to due to it being a weekday. Generally just pottered round when I got back, not sure where the time went. It was nice to do stuff that wasn't mentally taxing!- Fallen Angel -

Ha ha. I thought weird dreams only came from cheese, but I don't eat much due to the dairy intolerance. Must be my warped mind lol.

I hit my reps for the squat so will increase again on Monday
I changed my bench to 4x5 and increased the weight until the 5th rep was a bit of a struggle. I’ll stay at 62.5lbs for Monday and see how I get on. It was nice to put some bigger plates on the bar!
I went heavier on the deadlifts, but will stay at that weight on Monday as the final rep in each set was a bit difficult. I tried out my liquid chalk, which was really good. It dries on your hands and is a bit ‘tacky’. I kept my grip much better – thanks for suggesting it, Luna
I’ll increase my calf-raises next time as I'm getting less of a pump with the current weight. I was wondering if I should stick to bodyweight Ab Raises or should I add some weight to them?

I wish I was joking when I say the weirdest dream I remember is being on a spaceship to Jupiter that was equipped with a Slushie machine.
That was a full ten on my weird chit-o-meter. lol
Way to go with the deadlifts! Glad the chalk helped. I gotta get me some too at some point. Does it feel like you need to add something, or do you feel you could do the ab raises slower so you have more time under tension? If they feel that easy, you could certainly add something, though I'm not sure what. >.<PRs: 95lbs/126lbs/212lbs

If I was in a spaceship to Jupiter it would be heaven if there was an endless supply of PB and nutella
Good idea about doing the ab raises slower....I squeeze at the top and try and get the mind-muscle connection, but I just don't know if it's doing anything. I'll try them slower though and see if that helps- Fallen Angel -

Congrats on the bench.
Weighting ab raises can be a pain in the butt. I had been trying to weight them, but it's hard to get a weight to stay on your ankles. You can also try a harder variation. I'm going to work on bringing my feet higher, i.e. aiming for eye level instead of just going past parallel.
If you make the movement harder, the reps will probably drop a lot as you get used to the new movement. That's fine. If anything, the struggle will just be more core work. You can't help the hopeless.

Thanks for your advice on the bench, PM
Yeah, I did think weighted might be a pain in the butt. I'll try and lift my feet higher. It's not like they're super easy at the moment, but easy enough for me to think I need to change them up a bit and make them more challenging. I'll expect a rep decrease on Monday then- Fallen Angel -

It's been a beautiful sunny day today (still is), and Alan made an impromptu suggestion of going to the beach. Our nearest beach is a couple of hours' drive but it was worth it. We got there at about 10.30am when it wasn't too crowded and did a good 2.5 hours of walking. Of course, we had to have a sit down on the beach. There is something so calming about being by the sea. Thought I'd post a few pictures
Cookie was adamant that she hadn't been sniffing around in the sand!
Alan took Cookie down to the sea, but it turns out she's not keen on it!

Thanks both! Yeah, Cookie is in her element when she's out. People just come over and say hello to her. She loves the sand - she starts running round in circles as soon as she gets on it. I don't know if that's a dog thing and they like the feel of sand under their feet, but it's nice to see her happy

It’s a national holiday today. We have a few Mondays off during the year and I always find it hard to motivate myself to work out on these days as it's too easy to get up and just laze about. I decided to have my breakfast first because I was hungry, waited an hour and then got on with it. If I’d left it for later in the day it wouldn’t have got done!
I increased my squat weight today. My bench felt much harder than on Friday, the 4th rep in each set was a bit of a struggle. Perhaps it was my mind set this morning; I’ll see how it feels on Friday.
My deadlifts felt really good. I did my warm-up set which felt so light that it shocked me and I had to check I’d put the right weights on. It’s so weird when you pick up a weight and it’s lighter than what you expect! I’ll increase my deadlifts a little bit next time.
I upped the weights for the calf raises which seemed to give me more of a pump.
Happy to report that the cabin crew strikes on our airline appear to have been put off for the time being. Six days 'til we fly out!

I'm not very good with dealing with excitement, I can get a bit overwhelmed lol!
No, I lift in kilos but convert to pounds so the numbers are in pounds Don't do yourself down, we all start somewhere and we'll keep moving on up if we put the work in. I wanna be squatting and deadlifting over 200lbs eventually but it'll take time- Fallen Angel -
