Serious talk, is Ronda the first real grappler Holly has faced? I always thought Holly had the best striking in women's mma. But I thought she would get exposed by a wrestler/grappler. I haven't been keeping up with mma as of late so I'm a little in the dark. If Holly's takedown defense is as good as it looked tonight, then the only way I see her getting beat is by another fighter with elite striking.

I hear you. From the random videos of Ronda on YT and watching Holm in that docu I mentioned, you can clearly see two completely different class of women. Holm seems very down to earth and humble and while Ronda on the other hand needs no explanation.

I admit and plead ignorance on the fact that I bought into Ronda. Sry MISC. I'm pretty much a noob with knowing about MMA and I guess it was the fact that she has been so ruthless and dominant with the girls she did fight but at the same time I haven't seen too many women with the skills and conditioning of Holm and when I did see that in that video on the UFC channel, I had this feeling Ronda was going to have a hard time with her. That's obviously an understatement.

I can't believe some of the clips in these gifs. Especially the one where Holm evades Ronda's strike attempt and Ronda misses, trips up and then turns around like she has no clue what's going on.

She damn good she was a silver medalist in Judo in the Olympics

but the thing is womens MMA is some years behind men's MMA, because there just aren't as many women in the feeder sports that produce quality MMA prospects (boxing, martial arts, wrestling)


You see the same thing in heavyweight MMA, most big 250+ lb guys who are top athletes were funneled into the major sports (handegg, basketball etc) as kids so the talent level at Heavyweight is thin

So basically Ronda is good within the Judo sport, but when it comes to MMA/UFC she's bad?
