it's funny to me because tokyo ghoul excels in places where Naruto really disappointed the chit out of me. great character developments foreshadowed without asspulls, mainly.(no sasuke-like mood swings, logical developments for characters,etc)

Kaneki wanting to die in style without caring if he's on the good or bad side was sad, seems like kaneki's whole life has been a tradegy which has been foreshadowed from the first chapter of Tokyo ghoul. I think the merger between haise & kidkaneki will most likely bring out his original personality, which probably will be the most messed up one so far. If I'm right then this will be good

This season is straight garbage.
You only have K: Kings or some sht like that, Norogato (or something like that) and One Punch Man.
That's literally it. Even the demon vampire one flopped.
I've been in anime for like four years or so and this has to be the worst season I've come across. Painful.

The first page has decent beginner anime suggestions, but I highly recommend Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the FMA series is what really got me into anime

a lot of top rated shows on MAL deserve to be there but then there are some that receive a ton of hype and get blasted up there (e.g., One Punch Man). It's not even complete and doesn't deserve to be up there. Another example is Attack on Titan, which was rated #2 or 3 when it aired but has fallen appropriately to #53. Shokugeki no **** and Shigatsu are other examples of recent shows that'll likely drop eventually.


The recs I've listed have stood the test of time and are widely popular for good reason. When you watch a lot of anime and see what is considered "average," it becomes quite easy to pick out the truly exceptional shows. You've already seen a few, judging from that list.

myanimelist is heavily biased toward newer anime, thats why a lot of current airing and average shows from past seasons make it to the top, they eventually go down, but the top 10 list is really solid

shokugeki **** got really repetitive towards the end when doing the final exams or whatever
seriously every food needs to be described down to the most minute BS. Then half the other half is guys and girls gushing in extasy over the taste

it was fun otherwise though
