It's 1AM where I am. Just broke up with my girlfriend so **** it, I'll be up for a bit. It's been a while since I've been on the misc, honestly just been busy with life.

My names Brian, and I run the youtube channel "whatever" (http://youtube.com/whatever). The first 1,000 subscribers came mostly from the misc, after I posted my videos here. Had a lot of support from you guys (and a decent amount of hate, in fact, I remember a few posters saying I'd never succeed on YouTube - reps to anyone who can find the post / posts who said that hah).

Happy to verify on twitter (@whatever) that this is actually me.

Anyways, I started whatever 3 years ago (November 2012). Now, I'm 250 subscribers away from 3,000,000 subscribers on YouTube. Maybe the misc can help push me over. Instead of it happening in a few hours, maybe it can happen now .

I'll be sticking around watching this thread for the next hour. Ask me anything. I'll also check in again in the morning and throughout the rest of tomorrow.

PS, I still drop Zyzz references in my videos every once in a while. Most recent reference drops were in April / May 2015.

Can't disclose that, but for simplicity sake, YouTubers earn around $1 per 1,000 views. So 1,000,000 views = $1,000. Usually it's a bit less, but this is the easiest way to look at it.

Thank you man. Hopefully get to 5M before I'm 30 (26 now). Pranks are kinda dead. A lot of channels out there. A lot of stupid videos giving pranks a bad rep (heck I've even made a few dumb videos). My first and second million was accrued faster than my 3rd.

Some make 1m+, maybe a handful make over 2m. Probably a few thousand are doing pretty damn well though (6 figures+)

If his videos get 50,000 views, then I'd suspect he earns anywhere from $40-$60 for those 50k views.

Of course a lot of YouTubers monetize in other ways. I know some YouTubers that make more (way more) selling merch than from ads. One in particular does 5 figures in merch per month, and 4-5k from ads.

Average is hard to say because I'll get a video that does 300k, and then one that does 3M. Minimum after 30 days tends to be 400k or 500k. If it's a good video, I can expect 1m+ after 30 days.

I try to release 1 video a week, sometimes that doesn't work though. Rest of november it will be 2x a week. On the work grind right now.
