Another Car thread.....

I got a wild hair this weekend and decided to try and get a Corvette to replace the one I sold in 2013. I hated selling that car, but the time was right.

I was looking at 2013's and older, but this car came up for sale with a pretty good price and it just made sense to go for it.

It's a 2015 Corvette Stingray. It has lots of extras and only has 4,400 miles. It's truly a dream come true for me!

I haven't had much time to drive it yet, but I will soon enough.

That looks pretty awesome. I've never been a vette fan (except the old split Windows) but that is very sharp and I would imagine it's as fast as it looks.

Hope things have been going well for you (obviously pretty well ). Was just thinking about you the other day (no homo) just cause I remember you did a BB and PL comp in pretty quick succession, and that's a pretty cool accomplishment.

Haha, yeah, I guess I do go all out. I just love cars. Yes, the reviews are very positive. I was holding out on buying a 2014 due to the rear lights looking like a Camaro. Nothing wrong with a Camaro, but I don't want those lights on my Corvette.

Yeah, I have been a Vette fan since i was 10 years old. It's pretty quick with the stock 455 HP. They really outdid themselves on this model.

I've been dealing with a pretty serious condition where I lost about 50% of my strength in my left side almost overnight. It's improving slowly, but it's been a grind. Thanks for the props, Tim!

The new Stingrays are fantastic cars, only thing I don't like is the passenger side is a bit too tight of a squeeze but then if I owned one I would never sit in that seat anyways.

I recently sold my c-5 to buy a Jeep. Got bored of the Jeep (really don't off-road anymore), and bought a c-4 last week (1994). I am not sure why, but I have always liked the c-4 models (I like all Corvettes really).

Haha, dude, the driver's seat is tight too. I'm not a hugely wide guy, but sitting in that driver's seat, I don't fit width-wise. This morning I did a heavy back session and I REALLY didn't fit, lol.

Very cool, Craig. I'd love a Jeep for weekend excursions. I agree about the C4, but my favorite is the C5. My first Vette was a C4, so I have a soft spot for them. I'll update this thread with any new thoughts.

Thanks man! LOL, I haven't even taken it on the highway yet. It rained for three days straight when I bought it. Soon enough I will break it in. I did get it up to 70 mph messing around at stop lights.

My wife is dying for one of those, but wants it Plum Crazy Purple, which I keep trying to explain to her is blasphemy. lol I have always had mad respect for the Z06 as my other car just makes everything else seem slow (900 rwhp Mustang). However, I feel like I did join the Corvette crowd for a bit as I had a G8 GXP which had the Corvette LS3 motor in it. God did I love that car...nobody knew what it was and could believe it was as fast as it was. They kind of brought the GXP back in the Chevy SS, which is very high up on my next vehicle list.

Great performance cars, for the money really you can not go wrong.

I just hate the attention to detail about them, all the plastic, just doesnt look aesthetically well put together when up close, weave in the panels etc. But all Vettes have been like this pretty much, and for the money one can not go wrong, reliable, fast and cheap to maintain.

If you bought the car from around there, look on the roof sides fro hail strikes. A buddy bought a new vette and it had strikes that they fixed and did not disclosed... Fortunately the missed a few small ones and he took it back.

Nah, no hail strikes. The guy who owned it from February to October kept it in a garage. The story goes that he was activated to go overseas with the Military and sold the car back to the dealership, but you never know as those guys lie for a living.

Update:

Still haven't taken the car on the highway yet, lol.

Thursday night, I went to fuel up at the local Valero and I couldn't get the fuel door open. I got the manual out like a dork and found out that it unlocks automatically when the door unlock and all you have to do is press in on the door and it opens......well, mine didn't. I packed up and drove home and figured it would work the next day.

Got to the gas station Friday morning and the fuel door still wouldn't open. Called the salesman got set up for taking the car in and getting a loaner. Here it is Tuesday and I'm still driving the loaner and haven't heard anything from the dealership. This is definitely not the way I wanted this to start out....

Yeah, I will know something today. They are also finishing bolting on the rear fascia that was removed when they installed a K-40. Bastards left about 10 screws out. I don't even want the damned K-40, lol.

There are several highways here in Texas that have limits of 75 and a few that have limits of 80. Here in the city I could get away with probably 130 mph with no issues.

Funny. I was considering having the orange stripes removed, but it does give the car a different look. Besides, according to the invoice, that stripe cost the original owner $1,000.

When I first saw it, my thoughts were Denver Broncos. I don't even know anything about Auburn. I went to Oklahoma State, so the orange works.
