I'm undecided whether to continue quests at diamond city or go back to Sanctuary and just explore the entire northern map.
I've yet to go any further east than the plane crash.
FYI if you visit the plane crash be wary of rads, since the engines give off like 23 rads if you get too close.
Brb need multiple rad away to get back to normal

So still only done about 5 quests in the whole game (and I don't mean the full arcs, I meant just 5 individual missions/quests), and instead have been slowly unlocking/discovering every point on the map.

Thought Mirelurks were creepy af on their own

Lol you get to meet her on like the 4th minuteman mission, which is one of the first missions in the game since they are the first faction you meet. Really bad setup for a low level character. Just getting to the quest location is a bitch.

Cant find any cores. I found one under RR diner, used that up and now i'm all out. No idea how brahs are hoarding like 30 fusion cores, maybe i just need to do more faction quests

yeah, i save pa for difficult quests , i walked into some building south of police station near college sq, forget name, was fkn loaded with mutants

got smoked big time, went back to sanc and got pa and minigun, even then had to nade them plenty

You would be surprised how many random ammo boxes have like 4 cores just sitting in them. Once you get some caps every vendor in good neighbor and diamond city has like 5 cores that recharge every day. They are only like 300 caps each with decent charisma. Also if you get maccready as a follower he randomly gives you ammo when you talk to him and that includes fusion cores. He's handed me 3 or 4.

i have 18 at level 16, gota look everywhere , found one in a garbage can,lol, but most of the time they can be found powering buildings, down in the basement

Yeah I took the nuclear perk right away. I made a high INT character for science and hacking, and in New Vegas INT gave you a lot of extra dialogue options. This game seems to be totally based on CHA for dialogue so I've been a bit hosed, always fail the special dialogue checks.

Its been a bit better now that I found a +3 CHA suit, +1 hat, and +1 glasses. Gets me up to 8, but I still fail sometimes.

how do you go 2hrs without a quick save?

im at the point where i cant do more quest and still be in other factions. saved and went to town on those fooks. will reload later and reverse go to town on other fooks. i have like 20 armor cores now and never even used it after the first one burnt out. in the beginning i was scared that it wore out and i was going to have to abandon the armor and try to remember where its at.

Is there a companion that actually likes it when you do bad things? I enjoy stealing and all that, but every companion I have seems to dislike those sort of activities

So, now that this game has been out for a little bit. Is it worth buying? Going to be playing on PC. PC specs are;

how do you go 2hrs without a quick save?

I did quicksave, but the file is corrupt and cannot be loaded hence why I have to use the latest working save file.

This is an apparent issue with all Bethesda games. Current work around I found in other forums is to turn off auto save and never use quicksave but to manually make a new saves every time

I've just got in to the institute and they've told me about the railroad. Hope I've not gone too far with the main story to do all the side quests as I didn't do many railroad ones.

For brahs finding the game too easy on hard mode, kick it to very hard difficulty.

Makes a world of a difference and you get waaay more leg enemies

You PC specs are more than fine.

Is it worth buying? Hell yea if you like exploring an open world, building, gathering materials. If you're a COD kiddie with "ADD" then maybe not.

Update on gaming performance

I have enb graphics mods on, immersive 1st person weapon drop , 12 active mods total, one that's a general fix mod that puts more load on the cpu, less micro stutter etc, its' the most d/l'd one out right now
This is one of the most demanding scenes in the game, coming out of a building with the brotherhood of steel flying over, vertibirds everywhere, turrets etc

made the game run better overall.

I never drop below 30fps, anymore. Runs 42ish average.

Weapon drop is cool as ****, no more running through the wasteland with your gun straight out like a potato.

Mirelurks are such *******s, especially if you're using a slow reloading weapon because they run so quickly.

Also, is there a GOAT order to do the quests? I try to just do one or 2 of each faction/companion to keep them all 'level', on the assumption that all faction quests will end at a similar time. Rather than say, doing a load of BOS quests and being way far behind on Minutemen quests, making the story seem a bit weird

Cait and Mccready were the easiest for me to "unlock". Regular adventuring seems to make them happy. They like it when you steal stuff and kill people.

Game is too hard. Started on survival.

Theres no early on ways to do things in a non combative way. Also perception is 10x less usefull in this game. Enemies only show up on the hud once theyve been awared of your location. In fallout 3 you could perceive them a good ways away.

Sneak appears useless??? They hear and or see me from 2 miles away? Using leather armor...
