Space travel and science is the ONLY final goal of an evolved species. All our global and domestic issues relating to religion, wars, politics mean nothing if you cannot find a way off this planet.
Any species is wired to:
1. Breed
2. Survive and spread
3. Evolve
Our species is far too fascinating and rare to be die alongside this planet. Our only true goal is to develop hyper space travel and to colonize as many outside planets and solar systems as possible to ensure we never die out. If it wasn't for the the stupid, trivial and petty nonsense we waste money and time on now we probably would be a lot close to our goal. The problem is humanity has such a broad spectrum of intelligence and motivation, one category holds back the other and unfortunately we're all stuck on one planet, so the other has to put up with it.
I say not enough time and resources is put into science and space programs. Makes me sick to see 3/4 of the world obsessed and distracted with the most retarded sh*t. People need to makes a sacrifice so the END goal of our species is not hampered by worrying about short term goals. That's not to say we should neglect short terms goals and issues like poverty etc, but they should never be our only goals. People need to also grow up, stop believing in falsehoods and try focus their motivation outside of their little bubble and see the bigger picture.Last edited by EoR; 10-29-2015 at 03:48 AM.
EoR is powered by unique Nanomolecular Hyperdispersion Technology. Giving him high bioavailability and myocellular saturation.

Somewhere in this video he talks about this, until I find the minute, mire that MILF.
Basically, the new high tech that NASA develops now to explore space will be at the public`s use in a couple of years because the cost of making it will lower and there will be newer, better things to replace those that are outdated. And we are not talking about the tech only, health, security, exploration, transporation....etc will be affected.

I don't even think we will be on Mars in a few hundred years. Mars is so far away srs. And I'm also not sure if humanity can live long enough to go anywhere near the outside of our solar system 1000s of years from now even if we get advanced enough to. We will destroy ourselves before this ever happens srs

I really can't tell if people ITT are serious or trolling.
They have incredible cameras and take super detailed photos. It just takes a long time for the data to upload so far back home. Look at the announcement for pluto. At first we had a very blurry pic but as the days went on they kept getting better and better.
Finding out more about space is necessary. I can't believe some of the sh*t I'm reading in this thread. Sun and moon are in our atmosphere? Wat? Go tie a GoPro to a balloon and send it up and confirm it for yourself. Holy **** misc...

Collection of best posts ITT. remind me to rep u brahs
wut the fuk is this **** srsly cannot believe some of what im reading on the misc tonight...
ask yourselves, like REALLY ask yourselves, what is the fukking point of anything???? ... At a fundamental level - what is the fukkin point of existence? Literally the ONLY goal of our existence is exploration. Actually, to add something to that - to understand how the **** we are even here in the first place.
All the petty stupid sht that all the dumb k*nts in the world fight over means absolutely nothing - actually pretty much everything EoR said so I won't repeat it.
Even deeper then that, how the fuk can some of you brahs not look to the sky and have that feeling of awe? Literally nothing comes close to that nor ever will.
Space exploration and spreading our species is the only logical collective goal we all share. Unfortunately it is a fukkin difficult one yes, but that doesn't mean its pointless - why would we fking give up?

dumb level 9000
and most other replies
few decades away from AI
a few more decades away from fusion
ai + unlimited energy = sky is the limit
a few more decades and they will load up small ai ships with human genetic codes, embryos that will drift through the galaxy for thousands of years spreading us out like a virus in the milky way
ai with access to our genetic code can pretty much make human like creatures with features suitable for any specific planet, basically alter organic beings to whatever needed
no worries tho vermin, youll be long rotting in the ground before that happens

Lot of potatoes in here.
Space exploration is a great idea -- not only do we learn more about the universe, potentially gain the ability to distribute human life to other planets, and have a backup plan should earth ever become inhabitable...but we'll also get technological benefits that can be used for daily living.

How anyone can think that exploring space is a waste of time absolutely blows my mind. The answer to "why am I here? Why is anything - anything? Why do I have thought? What happened before the big bang? What is outside of our observable cosmos? Is there something outside of it?" I have sat and thought these things for HOURS. It is so incredibly humbling and eyeopening.
Edit: We most likely won't see it in our lifetimes sure - but to think that the answer to life may be out there somewhere? Its so incredible. But to read some of the posts ITT i swear i couldn't facepalm harder if I tried.
