In here it looks like about 98% of you young uns are still in the house your grew up in.

The only legitimate reasons would be if the parent(s) are physically or mentally disabled and are unable to look after themselves, thus requiring a caretaker (the offspring) in my opinion srs

Parents have disability, a disease, or some other disorders which shortens their lifespan is where I see fit srs

I'd move back in to take care of my mom or dad if they were physically disabled, had cancer or some other stuff along those lines

Other than those listed reasons, no one else should still be living at home, regardless of age, income, gender, or ethnicity...

For those who will counter me and say that living at home to lower expenses, save money for a house, car, marriage, etc, choose a better major that will guarantee you high income (realistically, 60k+ annually is high, let's live in reality) srs

I will be neck deep in student loan debt for my undergrad in accounting and business administration, and even more for master's in accounting or MBA in order to acquire certain licenses and certificates (CPA) but it is all worth it

Experiences, difficulties, hardship, and stress are character builders...

Will not achieve much if living at home and missing out on it srs

Most of them are paying rent and barely getting by living pay cheque to pay cheque, the rest either have a mortgage (and are doing the same as renters) or inherited money/property.

I'm 25 years old and live at home.

I pay cheap rent to my parents $150
I buy my own groceries
I cook my own meals
I do my own laundry (although sometimes my mom goes ahead and does it for me <3)
I have a Husky my parents help take care of (they also have a german shepherd puppy since they are usually home [dad works at home and mom works like half days currently]. For the most part, it's mostly on hot days they help out with her. I feed her and exercise her before/after work. I bathe her when she smells/get's dirty, I groom her, etc.

In about 9 months I've saved about $16,000, and this was after buying a lot of things I've wanted (clothing, nice shoes, too many watches [I have a fetish for watches], etc). I have a paid off car and don't really need to buy much after this year, I was just spoiling myself from graduating and buying things I never had before.

Plan on staying at home until I can put a fat down payment on a house and figured out whether or not I want to leave Houston. My job has great opportunity, but all that opportunity is scattered all over the United States. Luckily, there is a big time competitor right across the street if I decide I want to stay in Houston.

I am you only a few years from now. Bay area accounting CPA crew etc etc, living on my own. Roughly 50k in student debt, paying ridiculous bay rent.

I was told it is all worth it. Is it? The career, the life, the debt. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I disagree. Just depends on my mood. Sure as hell could be a lot worse... Definitely develops you getting outside the nest.

in romania if you don't know people or born wealthy you are doomed to a 200 euro salary for the rest of your life, moving out dosen't even make sense when parents can barely support their inherited places, luckily my mother works in other countries so she gets to eat there and reduce our costs of another person here + bringing money.

Have been on my own since 20. Get out of military at 26 and moving back in with parents while going back to school. Probably not gonna stay there long though. I see no shame in it. Get to spend time with your parents.

Although, might move in with my brother after I get out. Still unsure. But 3 years living on my own has taught me a lot of stuff mayne.
