If I ever learn to bench flat foot and keep my ass down I'd definitely mess with a usapl meet. (Never thought I'd say that). Another thing, anybody see D bells performance this weekend? From the front his squat looked high as holy **** and UPA meet too I think doesn't help.
We are still aloud to talk about raw lifting right?A total@A body weight

I used to only care if the lifts were legit or not but I definitely can see where you're coming from. Especially these meets that are thrown together for 1 lifter and everything revolves around them, instead of it being an actual comp. I try to keep up with all the big raw guys and I haven't even heard of Amit this weekend. lol I do not know one person who even acknowledges him.

After seeing a hard workout you may want to complain and want others to pity you for the work you have to do. Your mom will pity you. Your girl will pity you. I may pity you, but your competition will not pity you. They will step on you, walk over you and spit on you. Boris Sheiko

Any of you guys struggle with high blood pressure? My readings have been fluctuating between 140-150 over 90 or so. I keep seeing how powerlifting is no good for it but there's no way I'm gonna stop. Is there anything I can do to combat it without hurting my lifting? My doctor hasn't been all that helpful

Hard to say what would work best for you. My doctor had just recommended that I do cardio and it helped. I do cardio minimally 5 days but do six if not sore.
Usually my routine looks like
1) lower raw/3 min walk incline 1 min sprint for 20
2) upper raw/ 1/4 walk 1/4 jog for 20
3) off / 4 minute walk 4 minute slow jog then 40 minutes alternating between 4 minute walk and 4 minute decent pace jog
4) lower geared / repeat Monday
5) upper geared / repeat Tuesday
6) rest or repeat Wednesday cardio
I don't personally aim for speed. I just push myself to what I can do without killing myself.
But a new doctor could help. My high blood pressure issues come from a family history of diabetes. So it would be wise to get some sort of real answer.

I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day/night to reply to me about this. You don't find the cardio hinders you? I used to run everyday when I was in high school, some days I'd go 10 miles but this was before I started powerlifting. The high blood pressure really scares me especially since I'm 22

Not at all in my case. I find it actually helps with the DOMS. But again,
1) I don't run at a pace that causes severe soreness and adjust speed to feeling. Some days I can do the jog at a 5 MPH pace. Some 6. Some days the Minute sprint goes up to 8. Some 7 even 6.5. If my shins are exploding the pace comes down.
2) Saturday is all about feel. If I am sore from my gear I just skip it to rest up for Monday.
I'm seriously only logging in like 1.5 miles in 20 minutes. 3 on 40 minute days.
The incline walk speed is usually like 3 MPH 3 incline. The 4 minute walk pace is seriously only 2.5 MPH. By the time I get 2:30 into the walk I'm fully recovered and bored.
