The recent failures tend to be lifters who are competing at the international level for the first time or getting a WADA test for the first time. USAPL IMTs can be different than USAPL OMTs and can be different than WADA tests in what they test for. So even though a lifter may be elite in the numbers they can hit and pass all their USAPL tests, they can still be a rookie in the IPF process and have been taking something the whole time that is on the WADA prohibited list that they weren't tested for. That's why USAPL is trying to do more WADA tests to catch the lifters taking prohibited substances before they hit the IPF level and cost USAPL money and possible suspension. WADA tests are quite expensive though so that money needs to come from somewhere.

Long shot but... Is any one at this NASA meet in Denver? My training partner and coach weren't able to make it and my wife got called into work. I'm here all alone. I might be forced to socialize with strangers that share the same interests.

Yeah lots of big meets coming up soon. Exciting times. CWS looking super strong RN.
Also I suck at not competing lol...I was planning on taking a lot of time off competing, then doing my next meet in June. Now I might do one on Decmber 3rd, and then a single ply meet at the end of January fuar.YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/NorthStrongSC

After seeing a hard workout you may want to complain and want others to pity you for the work you have to do. Your mom will pity you. Your girl will pity you. I may pity you, but your competition will not pity you. They will step on you, walk over you and spit on you. Boris Sheiko

Yes it was yesterday. I finished third in 275.5. I was pretty dissapointed with my 530 kg total, but had a blast and learned a lot about the nuances of different feds. I missed my third squat for moving my foot before the rack command (I don't see it on video, but two judges got me) and my final deadlift after getting caught up on my singlet and hitching (debatable again, but two judges agreed) over it.
Looking for at least 590 kg at 110 kg/242 lbs next March with lifts clean enough that there's no room for questioning.455/305/505

Overall very good. It was well organized and moved much smoother than some larger events I've been to put on by other feds. Some of the regulations were super lax, but I don't think it took away from the experience.
Right, right. That wasn't one of the nuances. Things like... knee wraps legal in raw divisions, heels must be flat and firmy planted for the duration of bench, compression shorts/shirts were legal under garments, head bands were legal, thumb loops on with wrist wraps was legal, and the head ref called cues for some of the super green lifers--coming from USPF and USAPL those were all very odd to me. Moving your feet before the rackcommand is bad everywhere.Last edited by mccloudlw; 10-03-2016 at 06:35 AM.

Bw side bends - also side ish front bends, 5x20
Cobra prone pose 5x20
Stretch @ 1:27
also sort of exaggerated bulgarian split squat with the rear leg angled outward
59 sec stretch
t12-l1 minor disc space narrowing
l1-2 mild disc bulge
l2-3 mild disc bulge
l3-l4 mild disc bulge
l4-5 mild disc bulge
l5-s1 6mm grade 1 retrolisthesis of s1 in relation to l5, superimposed disc portrusion - cause of my problems
I had numerous doctors refer to the protrusion as a herniation, I was sent to a surgeon - he told me i'd need surgery within a decade. 5.5 years later, minimal problems. Hard to tell I even have a problem, especially after getting back into the gym.
Moral of the story is get 2nd opinions, stretch correctly... I went on lifting for years with symptoms but I just thought it was part of the game - it wasn't. Asymetrical tightness causes probs over time
