Kinda the hope for it. Kinda feels more stable actually. Painful yes but more control.

Any idea how long it will take to get some build up in the thumb? Or just gotta keep going?

I've never found it to hurt much to be honest, thumbs will feel a bit funny the day after pulling but that's all (that diminishes over time though)

Well I will say it turned out to be less painful today now that I went into it with the acceptance of it was going to as opposed to trying to minimize the effect.

I also did what you had said in the other thread about wrapping it under and that helped tremendously!! So between accepting it, thumb under, and squeezing my finger before the pull it just clicked.

Either way. I'll hit you on recharge if you're not on spread

Ignore all the other stuff, I wanna see Zahir get to 275 on a 2 hour weigh in.

Lets put it this way, Zahir could easily squat 1080 in a single ply and knee wraps with a 2 hour weigh in, and still weigh 50lbs less. Cyc couldn't cut to 275 or even 308 probably, and only use knee wraps, and squat 1036. The way you need to look at it, who could do what by Saturday if they wanted without much training for it, Zahir.....

Not doubting how great Fedo is, just not as impressive as Norris in my book.

Meh, let's not forget Fedo has been doing this for well over a decade. He's been on top for like 12-13 years. Longevity has a lot to do with impressiveness IMO. E.g. Ed Coan was on top for 20+ years.

Interesting that malanichev, who is a stronger squatter than zahir, couldn't hit 490 in single ply at super cup. Yet CYC did, while being drug tested out the ass, on another continent, with a partially torn quad tendon, on the international stage, at 24y/o.

I'm not an IPF nuthugger but go watch the film. The guy is a fuking powerlifting prodigy.

Lol 700 at 16 years old. 556 Wilks at 18 years old. Out totaled Ian Bell by 40 lbs a whole weight class down.

I agree. It seems most of them are multi ply. I guess raw with wraps kind've took it's place, which I like anyway. It's cheaper, more musculature is involved, and no bench shirts. So it really makes sense why it's played out like it has. Atleast in the US where everyone is broke.

Yep. There's also some high profile raw guys that came from single ply (Maliek Derstine, John Rivas, Micah Marino, etc.) so the transition wouldn't be hard and they'd excel. Hopefully the olympia really takes off.

Is there something in USPA where they can only use 3 spotters? Every time I see one of these it's 3 spotters with 700+.

Isn't it 5 for anything 500+ in USAPL? At the local meets anything over 450 we usually have 5, which is like 5% of the meet.

I think it's at the discretion of the meet director, but here we typically do 5 for over 500, yeah.
