I squatted today for the first time in like a year, and with zero knee pain. Super psyched.

That just means you only squat and pull in gear. It keeps your back together. Trust me 😉

Lol yup. I mean if you compare my competition equipped pull to my competition raw pull, it's 60 lbs. But if you compare my gym equipped sumo to my gym raw sumo, it's 160 lbs.

Would kill for that deadlift carryover, unless it means I have to take the squat and bench too. Then no thanks

Tried deadlifting in a suit yesterday. No thanks jeff. Squatting in a suit and benching in a shirt is going well tho.

A dedicated deadlift suit might yield better results, I pulled in my superior yesterday. ****ed my setup up so hard lol. Need coath Arian method.

How tight is the superior? If it's too tight or not set right, it's going to mess up your deadlift. Also, get longer arms.

Really not too tight at all. I can get it on in a couple minutes and the straps are pretty loose.

I'm not sure if I wanna bother trying to pull in a Fusion or just pull raw lol.

I lift raw, but when it happens to me, its usually gone in a few days or so. I generally don't have heavy training days back to back.

Just ignore it and keep training. Mine always get worse (spread throughout my eye) for a few days before they start to thin out. Just appreciate how much you scare everyone who looks at you.

Is there anything terribly wrong with squatting in wraps all year round? My knees just can't seem to handle any consecutive weeks of raw squatting. As long as I'm in wraps my knees feel great. I feel like I'm using wraps as a crutch though.

The only time I exclusively squatted in wraps, I messed up my back. I'm certain it wasn't the only contributor, but also not a coincidence either. Just something to be aware of. Overall it will increase workload of your back.

Back with my Russian coach I was in wraps for about 15 sets a week for about 1.5 years and didn't do any raw working sets. Knees never had any issues with it but eventually the repetitive action of self wrapping did a number on my shoulder. If I had the extra time to do all that wrapping and my shoulder could take it I would. Feels so much better and more fun

Considering I train light most of the time, hopefully I won't have this problem.

I am wrapping for like 3-4 singles (on the same day) each week, and that's plenty for me lol.

Hit 475x5 on stiff legged deads yesterday. Was disappointed at first because I thought I was gonna be in the 515-525 range, so I looked at my old log book to see what I've done before. My best ever SLDL was 545x1 on a deadlift bar a year and a half ago and 30lbs heavier, so I guess 475x5 isn't that bad.

Block pulls below the knee confirmed the worst.

Raw workouts are so nice compared to the equipped ones lol, you can actually get some work done instead of hitting a single and wanting to go home.

I squat basically every day all winter long in wraps, been doing it for a couple years now. My knees have never felt better. I started doing this because my quad and patella tendons were getting beat up in knee sleeves and I noticed they always felt better after my wrap day even though it was usually max effort. Then I decided to just train in looser wraps and only use heavy wraps on days where I felt good enough to go really heavy/max.

    A few things,
Prerolling is a waste of time and I only get someone else to assist wrapping when going for a PR. You don't have truly tight wraps without assistance anyways.

I throw the wraps on at around 60-70%

Have a training pair and a heavy/meet pair. The training pair should be fast to wrap and relatively comfortable for lots of volume. Less stopping power more rebound so you're not fighting for depth. Thick, short and stiff wraps are good for this, I use phantoms and just got the lillibridge wraps which I'm trying out tmrw. Something you can get 6 revs with like a 2m.

Heavy pair are obvs strangulators because there really isn't a better wrap anywhere. I only really wear heavy wraps once per week, and rarely have someone else help wrap.

Any wrap questions just ask bro, I've done thousands of sets of wrapped squats in the last few years and have tried them all.

I disagree with this completely. One of the big reasons I only squat wrapped is that my lower back gets way less fatigue due to the extra "quad" from the wrap. More upright, less goodmorning, less knee cave, more bar speed. Usually less depth as well which tends to be easier on the lumbar discs.
