    Surely this can't be right... (body fat levels)

    When I started, at 260lbs, I was at/around 30% body fat. This is the number my Tanita scale gave me. To check the accuracy, I taped myself and used several calculations (military, YMCA, etc) to come to the same result: 30%. Ok.

    Now I'm at 227 and my scale still hangs around 28-29%, so I just taped myself and, sure enough, I'm at 29%.

    How can that be?

    260 @ 30% = 182 LBM / 78 BF
    227 @ 29% = 161.2 LBM / 65.8 BF

    I hadn't been working out prior to weighing/measuring myself at 260 and now that I've put on some muscle since then, so why is my LBM *decreasing*? Of the 33lbs I've lost so far, more than a third of it was lean mass?

    It would make sense if I had bulked up and then went on a cut and lost some lean mass, but I would think that, despite my calorie deficit, I'd be packing *on* lean mass since I had added a non-existent workout regime.

    Ignore Tanita scale. Your LBM is honestly around 160 not 182, the scale was off at the beginning, it's hard to tell at 30%+ BF. Keep cutting and use the mirror to judge. Once you hit about 190 you'll start seeing daily results in the mirror.

    The initial measurement was off. No big deal, you are what you are now. Even if some formula said you were 15% BF and you still looked bad in the mirror, would it matter? Just keep cutting till you look good bro. That day is soon!
