Hell, if he's just trying to get a deal, you can typically pick up a Savage axis with a cheap scope combo for $300-350 at most good gun stores around the end of this month.

Not a quality rifle but if you're only hunting with it, it will serve its purpose well.

I've had one for some time, but am kind of getting ready to give it attention. I haven't had a shot to get a decent stock or glass, so it's sitting locked up. Kinda torn between trying out that Magpul setup and just going w/ Manners. IDK, I'm probably awhile from getting it all done, but I have been considering it frequently for awhile.

If you're willing to buy a Ruger, the American has been getting good reviews.

Otherwise I'd go with a Rem 700 SPS in .308.

I've had one for some time, but am kind of getting ready to give it attention. I haven't had a shot to get a decent stock or glass, so it's sitting locked up. Kinda torn between trying out that Magpul setup and just going w/ Manners. IDK, I'm probably awhile from getting it all done, but I have been considering it frequently for awhile.

I'm wanting to try the Magpul stock as well. They are pissing me off on the release delays. I'll likely end up with another Manners T4, to match my .22lr trainer.

Hit me up when you are starting to put it together. I have friends in good places for the long-range toys.

Get a fudd 700 in 308 off armslist with a pencil barrel, odds are you are only firing one round and you don't need a super tactical ten inch thick barrel

Finally joined the world of firearm ownership. I got a contracting job at an army base, and since I'm still in the inactive ready reserves, I can shop at the PX. Got off work on Thursday and got myself a Gen 3 Glock 19 (Dat Dere tax free). Time to apply for concealed carry!

Finally joined the world of firearm ownership. I got a contracting job at an army base, and since I'm still in the inactive ready reserves, I can shop at the PX. Got off work on Thrusday and got myself a Gen 3 Glock 19 (Dat Dere tax free). Time to apply for concealed carry!

I'm surprised that the PX had G3s instead of 4s.

The real question, of course, is how long until you get an AR?

What diameter bullets are recommended if I'm ordering from fitstick with the poly bullets? I'll be running them in my fs m&p, shield, and g26

358, normally there isn't a problem going to big as long as they will chamber, smaller on the other hand usually causes leading ect

You can always slug your barrels if you wanna know the actual size of each one

I'm fortunate enough to live the majority of my life where walmart does not exist, but when I did there was never a shortage of 308 ammo. Are you really trying to say that 308 is in any way scarce?

And lol at insulting where I live in an attempt to negate my statement that 3006 is a garbage round from start to finish

They usually have plenty of both. Would also go with the .308 the rifles are the same price so no reason not to.

All my barrels will be different. I'll run 500 of them at .357 (the recommended) to start with and go from there. I'll be getting a few thousand before next spring.

They had both G3 and 4 but I prefer the 3 anyway... okay it's because I'm cheap. It won't be too long until I start building an AR10. Just like the .308 for some reason.

And I bet more game has been killed with a .22 than .30-06 and .308 combined, but it doesn't make it a good choice for a hunting rifle. Just sayin.

There is really no rhyme or reason for why Walmart does their guns and ammo the way they do. Some days they will have 5 colts and a couple of dpms ARS and the next time they will have a single pink cricket 22. Their ammo is always hit or miss. No pun intended.

Get a 5.56 AR first. You'll shoot it more.
