True... there *are* some aesthetic pros like Rhoden, Dexter and Cedric. This meme was just highlighting the drastic turn for the worst that Branch's physique has taken over the years. Most pros just look like a bigger version of themselves and keep the same structure to their physique... but Branch seemed to go from having classic-like proportions (i.e. big chest/delt/back area, small waist and nicely defined quads) to just a big melting blob of muscle with no real flow whatsoever.

so wait he looked good back in the day due to his genetics but he looks bad due to his genetics now? how the hell does that even makes sense. Branch has insane genetics. Thick chest, thick shredded upper body, very proportionate.
He tore his right chest
he tore his right quad (this one was unfortunate falling in front of his truck)
he tore his lat(s) might be multiple
he tore his triceps (the famous falling from flight of stairs)
he probably tore his forearms
all due to his horrible training methods (It works for him my ass) it is his mistake. he looked good pre torn muscles because he always had amazing genetics for bodybuilding. So yes you can blame Branch for destroying almost every known muscle group on a human's body
Oh i forgot one of his hamstrings I think his right one from behind looks torn too.Grainy hardcore religious slabs of thick dense muscle. So grainy that it hurts your eyes

He had some of the best genetics of all time. Had insane chest thickness and thickness on his hams and glutes which is so rare in pro ranks. They come in last with back. His back and arms werent amazing but they were definitely decent. Branch destroyed what he had with his insane methods. It worked until 2009. Then one after another he started tearing himself up literally and getting nerve damages in the process too most likely. He is 40 now and it always catches up to you.

Branch is equivalent to Dex genetically, if anything his calves/lower body/chest SMASH Dexter, Dex's back has always been better than Branch, but after his tears it's no contest.
Branch and Shawn are too diff to compare, but Branch hangs with him genetically.
Agreed on Cedric, he is genetically one of the most gifted athletes out there.

x2 or even Cedric.
Benfatto was competing in an era when Yates was winning so the meme is cherry picking.
Branch put forth a tremendous effort to overcome his genetics ... from being aesthetically gifted he systematically tore muscle after muscle to become the train wreck he is today, by far the most hard-working bodybuilder that ever lived. It takes a huge amount of effort to destroy the genetic gifts Branch had.I am the parasite, you are host. Deal with it.

This has been one of the highly debated topics. a lot of people question it since he fell a little too many times. we have all seen how he trains but i think there is too much ego and he cant admit it. People just lo9ve the circlejerk of branch trains the hardest and he is the most hardcore. i see an inefficient and unhealthy style. he could have more controlled lifts while lifting 85% of the same weight and he would have been rightfully pushing people like he did in 2009.
he still had a great career but past few years has left a sour taste in many peoples mouth.

There are 3-4 main areas that new pros have trouble with bringing up to par.
-Back
-Upper chest
-hams
-calves and glutes
Branch had insane genetics for all but back. It took Phil and wolf sooo many years to build some of these areas and wolf couldnt even do it right. Many bodybuilders cant fix these issues until the end of their career whereas Branch was blessed with those. It is not just how much more aesthetic he looked 10-15 years ago but it is also that he was developed everywhere
wouldnt call his geneticscoleman, wheeler, cedric level but its still very very goodLast edited by Gorky88; 09-25-2015 at 11:42 PM.

Branch these days looks like a terrible mess, like a pile of muscle stuck together!
Lets be honest though, if he had got to where he is now without the injuries he's had (torn muscles and likely nerve damage) he would have won a few Olympias for sure.
His back was getting there but everything else was thick and very well proportioned. Even now, he is still just about aesthetic looking in the side tricep but he'd look awesome if he had his current mass with no tear/injuries at all.
One of the most genetically gifted bbers ever and if anyone can't see that, they are deluded!IG: waldronconstruction
