It always varies as you never know what I will find, but when I do find something I try and buy the entire inventory. I figure if I'm not confident enough in the product to buy it all then is it really worth buying it? 40% ROI is usually my average, but it can vary depending on rank of the product.
Na, I don't work that much as it is. If I hired someone that would just mean more time to misc.... lulz. Like I said I usually only deal with businesses closing for RA so it's a one and done deal. I don't visit a walmart 100 times a month and become buddy buddy with the manager like some of those people out there. Ain't nobody got time for that80% of the time all of the time.

Basically yea, I first try to list on amazon, if it's locked then it goes on ebay.
Purchases can range from $500-15k. If you're looking for businesses closing dailylister is a good source.
There's a lot of risk as you have to keep a large amount of inventory in stock to make it work, at least for what I do. I have 150k+ in stock currently. But you can start off small and just keep it growing.80% of the time all of the time.

I've done it in the past, people eventually find your niche then flood the market and drain any profits. Also I ran into some QC issues and that was a big headache. It's a lot of hands on work, I don't really want to work hard. Lol
I'm sure if I had more experience in that field it would be easier but meh, I'm content with what I'm doing for now and don't feel like going back down that road yet. 1 bad batch going unnoticed could leave you in band camp from amazon, so if I would go down that road again it would be on a separate account.80% of the time all of the time.

Sounds like you got a good thing going man. I'm about to head down the PL route and try my luck at it. Luckily the product I'm working on is incredibally cheap, simple and in a booming market. So I'm pretty confident, but I'm not sure how 'big' to start out. Are you working a full time job with all this?

u wot
I'd zuck 10 dinks to see the system you have to generate 400k from OA. I didn't know that type of income was even possible from OA tbh. In early 2016/late 2015 I was giving it a shot using OAXray (this is when OAXray was brand new mind you..cant imagine how bad its flooded now) to sift through sites faster than by hand and I found that most prices would get destroyed with a race to the bottom by the time I got the item into the FBA warehouse.
Mind is full of fuk as to how to get on that level you're on. Are you looking for chit manually or do you have scripts/extensions?

gluck brah, yea I do this full time.
I only buy from a handful of places, so I just quickly check them daily. Spend maybe an hour or so browsing them if it looks like they made any changes/updates to the pricing. It's not too often that I go a day without buying, I spend usually 30-50k per month on inventory.80% of the time all of the time.

brb amazon decides to remove 60 of my 70 reviews
brb sales drop from about 80-90/month to 20/month
brb long term inventory charge about to hit of $250
brb paying $100/month in subscription charges & holding fees
brb still $2,500 in the holeTinder crew

I'm assuming its due to the change in policy on reviews where they can't contain the disclaimer that the product was received in exchange for an honest review
100% yes - im going to struggle to move them unless I get some more reviews
Amazon PL is no where near as attractive as it used to be.
Amazon has control over your business, they can suspend your account at a moments notice
As soon as you find a decent product it won't be long until others saturate the market
High capital start up costs
Due to those 3 major reasons I believe it is no longer a good idea for anyone looking to get into PL.
It's fine if your primary business is off of amazon and you use amazon merely for supplementary business OR you are able to drive external traffic to Amazon through external sources
However like all things the quick and fast money is gone or not sustainable and it is ultimately a long game.Last edited by Rocawear11; 01-20-2017 at 04:24 PM.

The funny thing is, that these review sites are still fine to run and they do. But the reviewers can't leave the disclaimer at the end, and the review sites cannot encourage/force its buyers to leave reviews.
So ultimately these fake reviews are still allowed to be done, but now the customers can't separate the fake from the genuine reviews.
I would not take my word 100%, do your research, but I believe there are much better ways of starting an online business. If I had to make a suggestion it would be to look at starting your own store on shopify if you want to stick to ecommerce. There are plenty of free trainings around and there's a guy who runs a FB group and gives away 100% free training with many members in the group going on to post $1k days - https://www.********.com/groups/ecomempires/Tinder crew

Finally got around to doing OA after a ton of research however when I set the price and put my listing up. It doesn't show in the "other sellers" section of the item buybox

Need some real advice from the FBA experts in this thread. I'm having problems trying to find something to handle the taxes. A couple people have mentioned TaxJar but here's my issue with that...
I have one Amazon account, it's been approved for brand registry and I am selling products under my brand for that business - we'll call it "Business A". I also have another side business and have listed the only product this side business sells on my Amazon account - we'll call this side business "Business B". Taxjar imports all sales, you cannot tell it to disregard certain products, thus I cannot use it to file quarterly returns for "Business A" because it also is including "Business B's" product sales in its taxes since it's all under one Amazon account.
Does anyone have a way around this or know of another software? I absolutely hate getting hung up on stuff like this which wastes tons of time and prevents me from expanding the business.
Please help FBA experts!~Chipotle every day crew

OP any advice on toys?
I'm entirely brand new at this, done some research, and thought toys were fair game
Go to buy very first products ever at store to try to sell FBA, phone was low battery so couldn't stay long, but they had Wonder Woman dolls marked down to $9-10 that are anywhere from $23.50-80 on amazon, wth about 15 FBA sellers
I thought toys weren't restricted unless it was the holidays

Elsa ruined toys. Chinese fakes flooded the market. The result is that Amazon locks down toys based on popular releases. Star Wars is another product line that is problematic.
All it takes is one chitty person to completely ruin a product line. I suggest that you never co-mingle inventory and always check to see if a product is restricted. Retail arbitrage is a seasonal endeavor, unless you're willing to do lots of traveling. Amazon's platform is great, but the low hanging fruit is gone. Climbing the learning curve is getting more difficult every year.

Oh wow that's interesting, thanks for the info, must've missed that when researching, repped
Yeah from what I understand co mingling isn't a good idea unless it's really hard to get a defective product AND you're shipping in extremely large quantities to Amazon
Another question for you or anyone else...
I'm a bit confused on bar coding things... so I've worked with DHgate in the past once for a mini business started through the school ($1850 revenue from $252 cost that was nifty), and I found a product I think would work well.
Could order 50 or more at about $4 each, not including shipping, but about $200.
From what I can tell, they have a pretty high seller number on Amazon and not many sellers, and not restricted. Fairly large market for it also.
Looks like it could sell for anywhere from $12 or so up to $18-20 range
From what I can tell, each product already has personal packaging ina small box, but I don't think / know if there's a barcode on it. How exactly do barcodes work? Getting them, which to get, printing, etc any info would be bomb

Co-mingling is bad because you have no control over other people sending in damaged products or fakes. You don't want to catch negative feedback because someone sent in a product in a fake/dented/worn/open/whatever box that is used to fulfill your order. That's how people end up getting their accounts closed.
The only exception would be for items that you own the brand for. In that case, I would just have the Amazon barcode printed on the box so they don't have to be labeled, or co-mingled. If the products were being sold elsewhere, so it is important to have a barcode, I would try to get the product restricted on Amazon so you're the only seller able to list on the product page as new.
What do you mean by high seller number? Lower sales ranks are better. The correlation between sales rank and number of sales also varies between categories.
What evidence do you have that people are actually buying the product?
What are you going to end up with after fees? The difference in ROI between your product selling for $12 versus $18 is huge. It's likely not worth your time at $12. At $18, you're about to CEO10K.
Barcodes off of eBay can be used to make product pages. The barcodes don't need to be on the products, because they'd just have to be covered with the Amazon labels. I wouldn't worry about a test batch of products. With higher volume, have the labels printed on the packages.

All my packages were received and I have some sales, sending more stuff in Saturday morning but a quick general question
A few of the items I sent in were never listed for sale and show up in my inventory as not available. One thing (pool filter) says 2 were unfullfiable which means damaged which is fine, but what happened to the other 8 of them? Also had 2 electric blankets listed as the same but it doesn't say they were damaged or anything
Just confused as to where some pieces of the inventory I sent went
