So did anyone stay up and watch him on his first show last night? I did and I found him quite silly and booring. I give all new shows a shot but I quickly switched back to Fallon. What did you think?

Cant stand the guy or the hype surrounding the show.
Wont watch."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Ya that was the over the top stuff. I like Fallon too. He's a local guy here so I'm always rooting for him. Colbert was more "at home" talking politics and interviewing JEB! Again, I think it will take some time to find his groove. I felt the same way about John Oliver (HBO). I didn't like the first few shows but now I really enjoy them. To each their own.

Way past my bedtime, I get up at 4am so no way unless it's a friday night. That being said not a fan of Colberts, liked Letterman 30 yrs ago but then after awhile he seemed to be just going thru the motions and collecting huge $$$. I liked Craig Ferguson because he was just flat out nuts.

Since Carson and Leno (more so Carson), I have tolerated (at best) late night TV. I was a huge Letterman fan when I was 16-17. Then I realized he really wasn't all that funny, and moved on.
My best recollection of Carson was hearing the opening theme from my room when I was very little. Felt rebellious to have been up late enough to hear the theme song. He came on at 2330 in our time zone. Good times. If you poke a bear in the eye, expect a bear like response.

Agreed. I think his first show was too thought out. George Clooney was boring and Jeb, well, Jeb is just boring too, but I thought Colbert did a great job challenging Jeb. I'm not a fan of the band, but time will tell. I'm going to give him time. It's a new gig, he deserves a chance, I'll sure he'll find his groove.
