What a joke. They take down the forums for well over a week for maintenance and when they come back they still get hit with spam. They apparently didn't even put in a method to keep the bot accounts from being created.

It's pretty bad. I have thought about creating a couple of threads, but they'll just get buried so I won't waste my time. I'm glad the forum is still here, but I'm not sure why they bothered to put it back up if they weren't going to fix some basic chit. Might as well have let it die.

I keep offering up help and keep getting ignored. Whomever fixed stuff could use a hand, even if just for dumb stuff they don't want to do, I'd be willing to help out. 30yrs in I.T. everything from unix->windows, web hosting, servers, domain names, all this junk is right up my alley.

    OH well.

Likewise: Offered to help. Was ignored. Also 30 years in I.T. doing everything from desktop management through business enterprise networks (LANs, WANs, and WLANs; Email, Web, DNS, corporate VPNs, directory services, RDBMS admin. PBX admin. You name it.). Have also held moderation positions in other on-line venues.

Anyone who's on spread, just neg spammers. Lord knows there's enough of them.

People have been offering to help for years. I don't think a single mod has been added since I've been here. It's a lost cause.

On the subject of lifting equipment, any owners of the Bolt Fitness Outlaw combo leg press/hack squat?

I've heard good things about it despite most combo units being a hit, or miss on at least one of the movements (I heard it apparently does both exercises nicely and with full ROM). This piece is pricey though, but fluctuates in price on occasion.

I might sell my Powertec leg press along with a few other things in favor of this one possibly, the footprint sticks out a few more inches than Powertec's (81" with the back pad all the down) and the Bolt is 84" with the back pad all the way down.

Here's the link to the Bolt Outlaw...

And on the subject of the Powertec, they just updated their leg press to a newer model with some small feature upgrades and fixes. HGHR posted a review on it...

As far as I can tell, Deltech Fitness sells the exact same unit at a lower cost: https://deltechfitness.com/products/...press-hip-sled

It's currently listed as Sold Out, but I reached out to them for an update a while back and was told it should be back in stock within the next month or so. Planning on getting one when they become available.

Was thinking about getting some new olympic plates, mostly been using my Ironmaster Dumbbells exclusively for the last couple years. I really like grip plates, cast iron, not urethane or rubber coated.

I have a couple odd random Troy VTX Grip plates and was weighing the pros and cons of buying a complete 255 set of those or buying the Troy Interlocking Grip Plate 255 set (dumbbellbuddy probably).

When I last posted here (before the days of spam), a few of you guys in the equipment forum are into the Interlocking so I wanted to ask. The price difference is like $30 on the set. I do like the VTX, the appearance is nice (modern) and the grips are comfortable, easy to pick up flat off the floor.

I know the interlocking are supposed to be more premium.

If anyones owned both, or one of the other I'd like to hear some feedback.

Glad there is still some life on here, appreciate the resource this place used to be.

I don't like the interlocking ones. Like the idea but my pickiness gets the best of me if there is any gap between them. Non interlocking don't have to be flush to me. Yeah, it's weird and there's no explanation of what goes on in my head but that's how they are for me

Can't speak for the interlocking, but I love my VTX grip plates, they make loading and unloading much less of a chore. I've wondered why they aren't more popular. I suppose they are a little bulkier than other plates and not the most accurate, but that's never been an issue for me.

I own a set of the Troy GO plates and like them, I prefer them more for use on machines though, but it's mainly more from a aesthetic standpoint due to their interlocking design and more machine like look.

Not sure if it's still a concern or impact you but a number of offerings in the grip plate class used to be non-standard dimensions (ie their 45s were not the correct normal diameter). Something to watch for maybe. Dealbreaker for me personally as I pull from the floor routinely.

The VTX 45s are 450mm, standard diameter.

Has anyone ordered from DumbbellBuddy before?

I'd assume the Freight Lift Gate option is mandatory for a residential address?

I've ordered from them with no issues. If lift gate is optional then you probably want it. If it's not presented as an option then I would assume it's included, but you might want to double-check just to be safe. My plates were on a palette and not having lift gate service would have been a nightmare.

Yeah I figure I'll just select that option, have them put the pallet at the end of my driveway and I'll just unpack it and carry it in piecemeal from there.

Any of you know anything about used treadmills? My son wants one however I don't want to pay a lot (I doubt he'll use it much) and would like something good, not necessarily great, that I can get used for a reasonable price.

From my observations at the gym and what I've seen reported on-line: Treadmills tend to be higher-maintenance and have higher-failure-rates than most other cardio gear?

Most advice I've seen has been to stick with reconditioned commercial gear from the likes of Precor, Life Fitness, Star Trac, etc. I've read good things about NordicTrack Commercial treadmills, but have never used one.

I'd love to have a treadmill, but I haven't the space for it. I may eventually break down and acquire one of the economical light-weight ones for the purpose of getting my steps in on the days I can't or don't care to walk outside.
