alright so ive been throwing 150 a month to a nice gym in my area but im fed up with spending so much to have to plan my days around the best times to go to the gym and not wait for a machine, tired of the social setting (people taking up a squat rack to talk to each other) and lastly...tired of the sloots checking me out so much (i wish..)...
so enough said, im building my home gym and i want to make sure im not missing anything, so far my online cart is packed with 4k worth of rogue gear to get me started. below is my cart.
-rogue monster lite RML-3 rack
- infinity matador dip attachment
-rogue monster lite spotter arms
- safety pipes
-j cups
-land mine with angled and straight handles
- plate storage rack
-rogue ohio bar
-adjustable bench (545 dollar one)
- 260lbs of hi temp plates
-50lb set of dumbbells
- 3 tier dumbbell rack
-ab mat
-spud inc pulley system
let me know what im missing or what you think i should add.
thanks

Are not the footprints similar though? Or is it simply being able to remove the safeties?

t-bar - Consider just getting landmine and t-bar handle to save space and money
roguefitness.com/rogue-landmine-handles
roguefitness.com/landmines
Also make sure whatever dumbbell set you choose is able to be expanded later. A lot of them only go up to 100# or 125# which isn't enough for some people.
If you're looking to save money/space you could consider powerblocks instead of real dumbbells, but with a cart full of rogue equipment I doubt that's much of a concern for you.
Kettlebells and resistance bands can add some versatility to your setup, but can be added any time.
Do you have any additional weight plates? What are your lifts at? Not hard to pull 305 in a short period of time...

i just saw the landmines and im definitely getting one, thanks for that advise. and no i dont have additional plates but ill add on later. i have stopped lifting so heavy anyways, that being said i will definitely need some more weight for deads later.. as far as dumbbells go, i maye just be weak now but ive never touched anything over 100's and rogues go to 125 so i think ill be good there. ill add in some kettlebells as well though i dont use them too much so it will be later
just saw the handles.. those are sweet. adding to carti voluntarily joined the pepperoni nips crew

That half rack is barely smaller than an R-3
HR-2 Footprint: 48"x49"
R-3 Footprint: 53"x34"
The only real space saving factor here would be the weight storage, but you can pick up a-frame weight trees on the cheap - I added casters to mine so I can move them out of the way quickly if need be.Boomer Rep Crew #1

honestly, the only time I can see that being beneficial for space is if it is in a garage and you take the safeties off to pull a car all the way up to the uprights.
I think 99% of the time people think it is a space issue is a result of the visual space the uprights take. But it really isn't "useable" space except in a rare instance.Boomer Rep Crew #1

problem with racks, have to anchor them all, not an option at the moment but should be later on down the road (year, 2 or 3?) are there temporary ways of mounting without drilling holes in the floor?
edit : currently removing safeties would be a big help as my drive way is slanted so when i change my oil i would have to pull the car as far into the garage as possible, that being said im considering selling my car and keeping my beater truck anyway so this would be a short term problemi voluntarily joined the pepperoni nips crew

i think we have someone who sees reason and has decided to go full over half!
anyhow i don't know if rogue negotiates or anything, but for me i wouldn't spend that kind of money from a single vendor without calling them to ask if there is any sort of deals or discounts you qualify for.
also any reason for the hi-temps instead of iron weights? you plan to do olympic lifts? if not i might suggest getting some york legacy plates...imo they look nicer.
also you should look to buy some tractor supply co Horse stall mats to use as flooring.
and you're required to post pics as things arrive and you have stuff setup
about anchoring:
you don't NEED to anchor things down always, but you could always build a platform or just buy the flat foot rackDomicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

i would prefer iron over hi temp but i would prefer to not destroy the weights or my garage floor lol. as for the matting, that was my plan . im going to call and ask for free shipping at least... i know they always do those "buy this+this+this=ships free things so i figured maybe they will give me that. as far as any other discounts i doubt it.

Look at the RML-390F if you want to keep it Rogue. Will take up a few more inches than a floor mounted model though. Lots of racks don't need to be floor mounted if you look around. Get what is best for you but just know most people agree a full rack is usually best in the long run if you can make it work.

Might get red skittles for this one but......
If I'm spending $795 on a new rack I would take the Bodycraft F430 over the RML-390F. Attachments are cheaper, pop-pins are WAYYY wasier to adjust, and you have the option of the space saving lat pulldown if space is limited. I'm a little biased though, I have owned the F430 and I'm not interested in dealing with pipe-pin safeties.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #58 ▪█─────█▪

Anyone who would red skittle an honest personal preference is a Dbag. There are no right or wrong answers. Everyone's preferences, budgets, situations, ect are different. Hearing about all of them here helps me determine what is best for me which isn't always whats best for others.

I went HR-2 because I can't press in an R-3. That was the main reason. I have limited overhead space to work in due to the garage door track.
While the HR-2 and the R-3 have similar footprints, you have weight storage on the HR-2 which also saves space.
I do not wish I had a full rack after buying an HR-2.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #53 ▪█─────█▪

Mainly referring to both selling high quality items at premium prices, excellent marketing strategies, and they both nickel and dime the HELL out of you for those 'customization' accessories to go with your main purchase. In addition, they both have a cult following of fan boys ready to slit throats at the very thought of being insulted or compared to a lesser product......still doesn't remind you of Apple?
