So after the success of my last thread ITT I give you job finding advice (IT Jobs)(70k Salary)(23 y/o no degree)(Free Stuff)
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...73&pagenumber=
I have decided to start a webinar where I teach you how to get started in the IT world. This webinar will be more targeted towards people that are between 18-30 that may or may not have a college degree/much computer experience but want to start working in IT. As everyone knows, the IT industry is booming and provides a great career choice for those willing to put in the work. This will be a free webinar and I will structure it based on the responses that I've gotten from my last thread and from this thread so please give your input on what you would like to learn.
A little background for those who don't know me. I am 26 years old, I have been working in it for over 5 years, and I am currently making over 100k working from home.
If you are interested, please simply respond to this thread and give me a little feedback on what you want to learn as well as your availability. This will probably be 1-2 hour sessions and if I get enough response I can hold it somewhat often. It is limited to 50 people so I will be doing a first come first serve basis. With that being said, this will be an intensive class teaching you not only the basics of IT, but how to land an interview and how to blow the interviewers away!
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
***EDIT***
If you are interested, please post your availability as well as things you want to learn! When you do that, please place your number in the Queue so I know I've reached 50! For example:
"I am available weekdays 6-10pm EST, I would like to learn about general it basics, #1"
If you do not do this, I will have to exclude you from our webinar!
***UPDATE***
So far I have these people. If you are interested and dont see your name on this list, please respond in thread.

Please post your general availability!
You need cassettes and a cassette player! lol You won't be able to make 100k without experience, but if you can put in 3-5 years and work hard, I promise you can make over 100k no problem!

I am offering the webinar for free. I dont want to cash in on anything, I just want to help people. I also never promised you can make 6 figures without experience or degree, I am simply stating that I can help you get into the IT world without it and then how far you get is up to you but i can give tips on how to succeed!

Can you share all the info in this thread? As in others may have similar backgrounds/goals to the people you are helping.

Ok, help me out. Been a police officer in Memphis for 13 years. BS degree in CJ (I know)Leader on every shift I was on. Currently assigned to the mobile access division. I do support for phones/tablets basically, but in a pretty light way. I can do way more than they ask of me. I have experience rooting phones and tearing phones apart and fixing them. Do a lot of that now actually. At work I work with SQL, excel (although I'm beginner), active directory (lightly) and proprietary programs as well as office/windows.
I get free tuition at new horizons here in Memphis. I plan on taking some excel courses when I get back to work (currently off with rotator cuff surgery).
I want a new job in the IT field. I need a direction. I'm best at phones, especially Android, but I don't see that turning into much. I was thinking of getting into SQL b/c I kind of like it. I've taken basic online courses in php, java, html. I've went the furthest with html. I have access to online courses in php, ruby, python although they are boring and not interactive. Also, they assume too much knowledge. When you're self taught you have all kinds of holes in your foundation. Hard to understand at times.
Thinking about excel, microsoft/windows/office classes and some sql. I think I can get my foot in the door that way. What say you?
I started reading your thread, but noticed it was 2012 and might not be relevant. You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.

I'd follow your webinar. I'm leaning more towards the Security aspect of IT but I'm open to learning anything. Looking to get into a career where I can make 100k+ (NYC/NJ) in either IT or Software Development. Also, I'm good anytime after 6 EST. #2

I'll save everyone here a chit ton of time.
Go get your CCNA Then CCNP cert
Go get your MSCA Then MSCE cert
Go get your Linux Entry Level cert
Become sys admin no degree/experience required. Make 70k first job, but you better know your ****. If you are literally retarded then IT is not for you. Most of us come from backgrounds where we were nerds in middle and highschool.
Source: I got all those certs in 6months with a decent background before going in. I do not have a degree, I am sys admin now and was a sys analyst a few months ago.
DO NOT go into software development or web development - Holy chit Indians are doing all these jobs remotely for mcdoubles, they will literally accept jobs at 10% of what someone in America will charge. And dumbass people will go with the cheap option.
Go into infrastructure - Sys admin / It Director / Network Eng
Every company worth its salt needs an infrastructure guy on staff, but you'll be hard pressed to make decent money in development unless you are god tier with experience.
