I'm a max th8 and have been sitting with max DE storage for probably over a month at this point. Using giant healer, seems easy enough to get through the core, or at least a few compartments of most bases. I don't think you're ever going to make big amounts of DE off of pump raids.

Oh I know, that's why I switched it up to the GiWiPe raids (just started adding PEKKA this week when I finished upgrading my one barracks). I do like getting the PEKKAs in there, they do help with cleanup.
I haven't done much with the healers of late, I should probably try it again but I found the best DE storages were on bases with interior ADs and the healers were getting wiped out while the giants were taking out the perimeter defenses.Boomer Rep Crew #1

Here's my TH9 farming base, nothing special but works pretty well. Most people just take my Town hall and leave my loot alone

I typically look for bases where it will be easy to hit at least 1 AD, especially if there is some space between it and the other 2. Even if healers get knocked out, they really only have to keep giants and/or king up through about half the base. On a lot of bases I'll use a heal while giants are working on outer defenses to help get them in to the AD. Sometimes, if it's a 4 sides kind of base, I'll just attack the non AD side and accept that healers will die fairly soon after dropping them, but I'll have at least punched a hole through some defenses and walls first. Then can use heals if necessary to help get a little more. For me it tends to work pretty well.

Good stuff, I might try that after I upgrade the healer.
Right now I have been dropping a handful of giants and a rage where I want my attack to start. Then use my wall breakers to bust through (using the rage immediately seems to help), two wiz to start clearing out the sides, the rest of the giants, and then a group of wiz with the King and PEKKAs.
Been mostly getting 2*s as I am just focusing on hitting the core and getting the TH and most of the resources - try to hang on to five or six wiz if I can.Boomer Rep Crew #1

I only started playing in April when I found out that my two really good friends from HS play - nice way for us to stay in touch. They are in a clan with some guys the one knows - half our clan is inactive, the other half is rushed TH10's - they wouldn't even be maxed TH7's...
We don't war very often, even though I like it, they are mostly farmers (or maybe embarrassed now and trying to get upgraded before we war too much more).Boomer Rep Crew #1

I've used the exact same raiding army since going TH9 and that was quite a while ago. It works for me quite well
16 giants
2 healers
66 archers
30 barbarians
8 wallbreakers
I always have heal, rage and poison spells cooked, been bringing jump lately but I will only resort to using any spells if I must to reduce raid cost but I have them if I need them.
BK is at 20, AQ has like five days left until 20 and I have like 105 lavas. Want to do at least 20 or 30 more lavas and continue pushing heroes before jumping.Misc Firearms Crew

Minions are great for raids. They can take out ground cc troops like barbs, giants, pekka, etc as well as BK if he's exposed. They can run interference for your healers to give your giants more time to take out the air defense. It also cuts down on your raid army cook time.

I always thought of them as an easier way to get to inner buildings, but then you have to pay a lot of attention to AD plus send a few scouts for air bombs. Then it just seemed like only a few wasn't enough and I was never sure how adjust army to bring a good number of them.

I had similar thoughts, plus I generally don't like mixing ground and air troops - I figure, if you go all air their walls, mortors, cannons, and bombs are useless to them. If you go ground, their AD, sweeper, and air bombs are useless. So you're immediately eliminating a portion of their D just by troop selection.

That's why I still don't use giant/healer. I hate having to account for air defenses on a ground raid.
I'm all about raiding DE and gibarch + heroes and sometimes spells (particularly jump) rakes in the DE. Simple and effective.
