Update Preview: Star Bonus, Treasury and Loot Cart
Hello Clashers,

As mentioned in our latest posts, we’re currently working on an update that we intend to roll out as soon as possible. In the meantime here is a preview of what’s coming:

Introducing the new Star Bonus! Win five stars in Multiplayer attacks in order to win a daily resource bonus!

Housed in your Clan Castle, the Treasury is the safest place to store resources. Your daily Star Bonus and War Loot Bonus are automatically stored in the Treasury for safeguarding and only a very small percentage can be stolen.

Last but not least, we’ll introduce the Loot Cart. After your village has been attacked, a percentage of the stolen resources will be added to a Loot Cart in your Village. Once you collect the resources from the Loot Cart, these will be transferred to your Treasury for safeguarding.

Besides these new features, the update will also include a few bug fixes and battle balancing tweaks.

We’ll provide more details soon, stay tuned!

We matched our first completely maxed defense base since the TH11 update.

The guy's trophy record is 5,040 and he is currently in legend league.

So why the **** is his base so dumb? lol

Loot bonus is over 800k of each (heroes are 40/40/15)

It was an easy decision. The top quarter of the base has zero wiz tower coverage and only the two relatively accessible mortars. I probably could have just used a jump to get in but EQ seemed more safe, and without poison still four regular spells to go.

As far as I can tell it's only really good for two things...a 4,000-4,4000 point meat shield (that takes up a ton of real estate...) and making it so you have to drop cleanup troops aimed at higher % during the attack instead of at the end if you didn't kill the eagle

Mass witch has always seemed to have a whole lot of luck to it...but then I don't usually know where bombs are or anything, generally fresh bases or just CC scout from a lower and maybe spam troops outside the drop zone to check for outside bombs

Mortar placement is important. As are bombs. If you have a replay to go off of it seems pretty straight forward. I still won't try it on anything max th10 and up. But that's just my abilities.

I used the witches there because I could practically 2* without fighting any real splash damage...if he went full retard and had an open base with singles or had them too close together I could have used fewer golems and it could have been much worse.

But I'm more than happy to get the 2* on a base that strong regardless of layout

Single infernos are a bonus but most guys warring have multi. Just a bit of luck I guess. Gotta keep as many witches alive as possible.

Well you're being pedantic really, as always, don't expect anything else :P I didn't have any other replays to grab due to the update but he has done max th11 before, box base. He wiped through the one I posted with a fair few troops left. Next time he does a max th11 I will post it.

Btw I didn't realise BK level 38 was poverty :/

lol, just sayin', there is a significant difference between those two base's defenses.

But, more to the point...strategy decisions like how to decide how many each of golems/witches/wiz, etc. I've seen as few as 1 or as many as 3 golems quite a bit, 7-13 witches, 6-10 wizards...pretty big differences it seems you need to get right to pull the 3. Question is how to decide. All heroes (or everybody) together in one spot to go in, or split a couple or do the old three with flanks and the main in between, and if you do that, heroes with the main or split on the flanks? Seems a lot of variations can work depending on base design...

I'm trying to use hogs to get three stars during war bro... where should I typically drop my jump spells? I bring four of them with a eq and cc eq

We talking against TH8 here? GoHo. Golem hog. Look it up. 1-2 golems and possibly 1-2 witches (CC a max golem), heroes, probably some wiz, and usually a jump spell (if they base has the AQ properly protected)...that kill squad is responsible or killing the CC troops and Archer Queen (CC may be lured/poisoned ahead of time possibly these days on some bases) and hopefully taking out some known or potential double giant bomb spots + tanking for the hogs. Then three heals spells and hogs, deployment totally depends on the base and you really just need to watch attacks in the clan and on YouTube. Obviously blanket/pre heal single giant bomb spots and cover as many defenses as you can with the heals so hogs are in them as long as possible, etc

I read this in the COC forums today from one of the mods:

"There are still a few bugs left, even though we fixed some big ones last week, like the matchmaking bug that caused inactive villages to appear very rarely in matchmaking (it's fixed now)."

That matches with what I've been experiencing. I didn't see any dead bases in Gold from the December update through a week ago. Now I see them fairly often and I've been able to start making quicker progress again.

A lack of dead bases has been a huge source of complaints on the forum recently.

The most bitched about things are:
-Cheating in war
-Not enough/easy loot
-Inability to use upgrading heroes for war attacks

And the Aq being dumb as fuk. if they can improve these things the game would draw some players back

Would be neat to see a graph of where gems are spent. I'm sure they have one internally. I wonder how much that would cut into their revenue. I'm sure they aren't jumping up and down at the prospect of just giving that up.

People talk about that a lot and try to guess. I don't know what the answer is, but it they definitely get a ton of $ or gems to finish hero upgrade times and being able to use them in war would definitely cut into that.
