Agreed - it'd suck to have achieved one huge thing without ever having a plan for what's next. It's super easy to get pushed into selling something you created and love. But if you don't have a plan for after it'd suck, hard. Alcoholism and drug abuse are just around the corner.
He honestly needs a new software project to make. Something that he can build with people he trusts, rather than the gold digging guys n girls who'll want to hang around him for his house / money.
It's an interesting question - what would you dudes do if you made $1bn tomorrow?

This is far more common than you'd think after a large buyout/merger since it leaves a huge void in your life. The work/personal life balance becomes very skewed because your personal and professional are the same . I can relate to the dude since I'm a live to work type - the money is nice but more than anything its a consistent, focused purpose that work provides.

Does this chit piss anyone else off?
Like, if you're so upset with all of your millions and millions of dollars and how it supposedly prevents you from having your perfect life, then give it away. Give it to charities. Bruh there are so many children out there starving to death and dying, and you're sitting here bitching about being too rich for your friends who have jobs.

He honestly should go fuk himself if he is really trying to get sympathy for himself in his position. What an entitled snot to go about whining about his life when literally the only person stopping himself from happiness is himself.
It is no one else fault that he is a boring egomaniac, that can't find happiness outside of work which even then it was doubtful he was 'happy'
This is a case of him having no hobbies and real interests outside of his work.
Most programmers are just that, extremely boring people with little to no character or life. He just happen to make a billion dollar idea.
It has nothing to do with having money, it's a personality problem.
I used to have to work a normal job, but I saved my money and invested decently and make enough off of that so I don't have to 'work' now. (not rich, but can live comfortably and by my own accord)
I still keep very busy, and never have enough time for all the things I 'want' to do.
Life isn't about work and making money, it is about what your work 'does', what it accomplishes, and what it does for the people you love.
No one should be working to just make money; you should be working to take care of your family, allowing you the freedom to pursue your own interests, and to better the world.
In short, money doesn't cure autism, and can't stop you from being a boring whiny kunt.

lol at money doesn't buy happiness.
the type of money a full time job brings (even if really good money) then yea sure it doesn't buy happiness, because you sacrifice so much of your time to get the money
money AND freedom, to not feel obligated to be somewhere every day at X oclock for X hours.
yea I would actually be happy as ****, and that's a fact.
money can buy freedom if you have enough of it
and freedom is happiness*Reps back*

I'm self-employed and I understand what he's saying... you finally escape the daily grind and have complete freedom, but you have nobody to enjoy it with because everybody else is trapped working. That being said he has the money to make stuff happen, he just has to do it and get out of the slump of having nothing to do.
