I've been slowly getting back to working out after my accident, and went and did a deadlift session when I had a day out of the hospital.
They aren't perfect but hell, too many people have excuses not to deadlift so I thought I'd share and hear why people are skipping one of my favorite lifts

Quadratus Lumborum
However! I deadlifted during my last back session for the first time maybe this year and it felt amazing. Little tightness on the right side where my issues have been but no pain! My posterior chain felt like it had an awakening and damn did it feel good. Didn't push it though. Stuck to 135 lbs. slow and steady."Sammiches are like sets of 20 rep squats; if you need a second one, the first one wasn't heavy enough." - DuracellBunny

I pull once a week. No excuses! Nice lifting op.
My only regret is not starting to deadlift sooner. I wish I would've nailed down this movement when I was younger. My back has made great progress since I began deadlifting consistently. My vids: youtube.com/channel/UCXYsnKrrmhI9oPzfzkn8NsA

Good job.
Trying to work my way up (in weight) and down (towards the ground) with rack pulls right now, but a broken left femur with titanium rod implant has me still working on flexibility, and the tumor on my L5 vertebrae left the right side of the vertebrae at about 1/4 of it's original thickness and me dealing with sciatica for some time. Therefore, I am a bit leery of pushing too hard.

I had back.surgery as well about 14 months ago, packed on 50 lbs and highly depressed lately. I've been back.in the gym for a few days last week and today hoping I can get the motivation back to train hard, first time on here as well in a lonnnnng time, good to.be back.and seeing everyone overcome different ailments and injures.
I'm no longer 2lite but need to change it to 2fat

I feel the risks far out outweigh the rewards for me. Due to structure and injuries (which came first?), I have serious back pain when I bend under certain loads. This happens in both compression and bend... but usually some combo.
I also don't feel that I got much from the DL. I've trained with numerous competitions that have their pro cards, and they built their physiques without the DL.
Now, if ppl want to do it - fine. If they get some great benefit from it - awesome!
I, do not.I don't lift weights, I flex under duress.

I love the deadlift, it's by far my favorite and best lift. It's probably my favorite because it comes naturally to me and it's a real ego boost, lol. My current squat is 60% of my DL (5 rep max) and my other lifts are pretty sad in comparison as well (quit for a couple years, never was THAT strong in the first place, but at least I'm getting back up to my PRs).

Deadlift here twice a week, going up 10lbs a week. Not nearly as much as some guys, but am only 3-4 months into lifting weights since being 21-22. Never deadlifted before. Yesterday did 250x5 and started at 135lbs. Could maybe get a 1RM max of 300lbs now. Since getting into this on a regular basis, the cool part is that I hit a PR every week
Very inspiring OP. Way to battle and overcome.

Glad you are still having fun with deadlifts. I had to stop early in the year due after injuring my piriformis trying to pull one more rep at the end of a heavy set. It took six months until I was able to do them again pain free, but only at roughly 60% of bodyweight. I've since learned to work around it and have moved to different programs that got me the results I wanted without incorporating them. However, I do miss the rush and sense of accomplishment in heavy deadlifts.

It wasn’t sharing the Instagram link that made me ask the question. It is your sig and your habit of spamming multiple sub-forums with the same thread. For example:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=168426913
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=168107113
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=168173583
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=168101323
And then this particular thread was posted twice:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=168737593
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=168737573
I’m not much of a nuthugger so that behavior raises a red flag for me when it’s combined with advertising your youtube, Instagram, and ******** pages in your sig. So the question stands… And you didn’t answer it.

Idk Steve. I see what you mean but I'd take a post like this over the many post that litter this forum looking for easy solutions to hard work and chock full of age related excuses. This guy wants some attention for overcoming an obstacle that many would use as an excuse to give up. I'm happy to give some green pixels and a virtual pat on the back for that.

I hear ya, John. If he's legit, and just feels like he needs a lot of attention to motivate himself I have no problem with that. If he's trying to use the forums to make some money, then he needs to be upfront with that.
We have had too many guys on here over the years that masqueraded their true intentions and garnered a bunch of fanboys only to be exposed at a later time proving their advice was tainted due to their monetary goals.
I asked if he was schilling the youtube channel because of his multiple thread spamming. He didn't answer my question.
