I have a big tub of whey protein powder sitting in my kitchen. Today, I had my first protein shake after my workout. It had a scoop of whey, a cup of water, a banana and peanut butter. It was good. On the directions it doesn't say anything about adding any other ingredients. My muscles under my chin are locking up. Surely, it's not from the shake, but just checking. Anyway my question is this:
Is there anything that should never be included in a protein shake?

Peanut Butter...the fat slows down the absorption into your muscles. Try whey, gatorade powder ( 1 scoop) or whey, a banana, raisans, and melon...mmmmm good
You can also add dextrose/maltodextrin to your whey with some blueberries/strawberries (without banana/raisins)

Pistachio Protein Shake
When we think of protein shakes it’s usually a choice of vanilla or chocolate, which can get redundant after a while. This is a recipe for a low carb protein shake with a kick of flavor that is perfect when your taste buds are craving something different, new and exciting!
Ingredients:
1 Scoop Vanilla Protein (Elite Whey is my favorite)
2 Cups Spinach
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 tbsp Sugar-Free Pistachio Pudding Mix
1/4 Tsp Peppermint Extract (1-2 drops)
1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
2 Tsp Benefiber
2 Packets Sweetener (I used PureVia)
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a blender
2. Blend, adding ice little by little until desired thickness/consistency is reached
3. Pour in a cup and drink up!
