RPS Rochester - keep us updated - let's see some pics/vids

I had a wonderful time spending the weekend with some old friends and making a few new ones as well! Everyone has a lot to be proud of, I saw some amazing lifts from every single one of them.

I met all my goals, so I was very happy! I had wanted to drop a weight class from my last meet in April (done!). And I wanted to crack a 700 total (done!). Actually wound up coming in 10 lbs lighter and added 15 to the bar for a total of 705.

Squats went well, I got my second attempt at 230 and failed on third attempt at 240. Bench was a disappointment, my 140 opener should have been fairly easy, I got it but it was ugly. Then I failed two attempts at 145. It was not my day for bench! Deads saved the day with a fast 315 opener, not overly difficult 325 (+5 PR) and then I surprised myself with a good lift at 335 (+15 PR). It was slow off the ground, but otherwise felt pretty darned good! Yes, I'm making terrible faces in the video lol. This was also the first time I've deadlifted 2x BW, so I was really excited to hit that benchmark.

Had a great time today!

We got into town around 5:30 pm yesterday, weighed in, did a little shopping for bottled water and food, and checked into our hotel. We had great fun last night - steak dinner with BH and Patti, Ron, Ronn M and Mrs Ronn M.

Flex's dad came up from NC. He got in late, but we met up for breakfast and he was there all day to cheer us on.

I squatted 230, failed at 240 (ugh!), benched 120, failed at 130, but made 130 for my 3rd attempt. Then came deadlifts. I honestly thought I had submitted an opener of 225, then planned on 235 and figured maybe 240 or 245 for my 3rd. Well I goofed. I submitted an opener of 215. Got that. 2nd attempt was 230. Got that easily. Considered a 250 third attempt, but went for 240 because I really wanted to total 600 today. I got the dead. Final total of 600. First place in the auld biddy class.

Can't wait to see Mr Flexy lift tomorrow. We've had an absolute hoot tonight. Probably get some sleep soon. Really excited about tomorrow.

I had my son do my vids in February and he starts cheering and neglects the camera on every lift, vids were horrible. Doesn't matter, loved hearing his voice cheering me on.
