Ehh UE not so much as the original, the only thing you have to get used to is center screen shots. Once you adjust to where your shots end up it's pretty easy. Gears 1 was unforgiving because of the nasty lag.

UE feels exactly like Gears1 though, except for a few minor things like omnidirection and netcode. Plus you have some experience,so getting used to it again won't be as hard as playing it for the first time.

As someone who is new to the game, what the hell is the point of the assault rife? Can this thing even kill before they pop behind cover? It seems like it's a peashooter online.

You're only gonna wanna lancer from long range and spot people to call out to teammates. Mid-close it's the shotty all day.

Woke up early to play before work, got to lvl 5. KD is mediocre 0.6 due to unfamiliarity with some maps as I didnt get into Gears until 2.

Love it so far, multiplayer without sawed off shotty is hnngggg

Totally got my chit pushed in last night. Never playing any gears before this game makes very little sense to me. It seems like the assault rifle can't kill for chit and you pretty much have to get close range to do any real damage with the shotgun. I've read various things online, some people say you shouldn't aim down sights, some people say you should. I also feel like the default sensitivity is totally wonky and sluggish, I'll have to play around with that. Do you guys rebind sprint to something else? Sucks to take your thumb off the stick.

Use shotgun for pretty much everything except long range. I leave my controls the same for sprint and all that. Just takes time. Gears isnt a game for new ppl

Wtf does that even mean? That being said I don't think I'm going to be able to get into this game. Seems like one of those games where if you played it back in the day it's fun to play again but I have no idea wtf I'm doing and it seems like it will take a long time to get into it. I hate how there is no solid ranged weapon that you start with. Halo 1 had the pistol and Halo 2 had BR if you played comp lists. Shotgun fests with everyone rolling around like a tumbleweed is not fun to me.

Give it time brah. When u start popping heads and getting clutch plays then u will fall in love with it. Game is goat. And sponging is when ppl eat bullets 3 point blanks with a shotgun and they turn around and 1 shot u. Happened to ivan in the last game we played. Was pretty funny. Try getting gud with the sniper. Thats ur best bet for long range

I'll only play if I've got people to roll with. The potatoheads I was paired with last night didn't help and every game was an angus raping. They controlled all the weapons spawns and it wasn't fun. I also snuck up on a guy last night and shot him point blank twice in the back with the shotgun and he turned around and killed me. I turned it off after that.

The ranked matchmaking sucks dink, they should've stuck with the original ranked system from gears1.

Brb vsing a full squad of lvl 10+s while my team are split-screening and are lvl 1.
Brb vs the same people even though the game is over.
Brb stuck with the same team everytime.

Also I don't know about any of you guys, but I prefer blindfiring from the barrel not the middle of the screen. It just makes more sense for a tps. Still not a bad deal for $40 on a fully remastered game, it's a good way to kill time for dat dere Mgs5.

Gears 1 server list suck balls dude. Such a bad way to play. Waiting and waiting and waiting then ppl leave and u have tp start over. If u get a stacked team just leave. Sucks but thats the way it is

Whoa, they allow split screeners to play ranked? Or do you just mean the regular playlist?
