Isn't it ironic that those who claim to be the most patriotic are the ones who want to go against the grain of the rest of the country? And it's always an issue that's ANTIfreedom like not obeying the separation of church and state.
"Well, we here are a Christian state unlike the rest of heathen America and we all want the 10 commandments on government property."
How is that freedom? Why do right wing nut jobs always admonish the Muslim world for not being free like the US but have the same philosophies as them when it comes to religion and government?

Idiocy starts at around 4 minutes.
"In the Oklahoma constitution the preamble states that we invoke the guidance of almighty God."
Oh look. We want a government where we force our religion on you... Sounds kinda Talibany to me. You don't deserve to fly the US flag. The confederate flag seems more fitting... Oh wait, that's what they want to do anyway. Surprise surprise.Sept of Baelor was an inside job. Wildfire can't melt stone masonry.

Know what the phrase means before you spout off.

Cliffs: The government cannot establish a religion for the state or the nation. Which is why there is no "Church of the United States" or "Church of California" like the "Church of England".Last edited by poundXpound; 08-03-2015 at 09:08 AM.
A democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. And that's why the USA is a constitutional republic and not a democracy.

Separation of Church and State has evolved and expanded as our world became smaller and smaller.
The true meaning of the Separation clause is ambiguous at best, having the minutia of wording scrutinized in the creation of the 1st Amendment. Regardless, SCOTUS ruling have been rather consistent and very clear as to how separation is perceived. Like it or not, we are by and large a secular nation now.Last edited by acrawlingchaos; 08-03-2015 at 10:55 AM.

The 10 Commandments List
1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2. You shall not make idols.
3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honor your father and your mother.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10. You shall not covet.
So what’s wrong with the Ten Commandments? I mean, $hit, brahs.. Even if you’re not Christian, 6 of the 10 commandments can apply to you.
Honor your father and your mother.. That’s a good one. If you’re a douchebag, you can’t possibly say you honor your mom and dad..
You shall not murder.. A good one.. I wouldn’t want anybody to murder me or my loved ones.. And this is why we have the 2nd Amendment – so we can first neutralize those who want to murder us.
Don’t commit adultery.. Hey! Don’t bang your bro’s wife, bro.
Don’t steal.. Should be tattooed on the forehead of all politicians.
These are pretty good rules even if you don’t believe in a Divine Creator. So why do some people feel threatened by it?
Maybe it would help if Obama signed Executive Order 1,908,657,346,537,978,103,098,012 and he summarized the Ten Commandments into one law: Don’t be an fukken a$$hole. This above all..
To thine ownself be true..
And it must follow, as the night the day..
Thou can'st not then be false to any man..

Yes, we definitely are and I'm not saying that having God in the pledge or this ten commandments stuff is even remotely as bad as some muslim countries when it comes to the separation of religion and government.
I just find it ironic that some people slam the middle east and say they hate us because of our freedom and claim to be proud to be American because we have freedom but would be totally glad if we moved towards having less separation of church and state.Sept of Baelor was an inside job. Big K. I will admit that I used to be one of those right wingers that used to slam the Muslim countries. I was wrong. Hate is wrong.
I'm not your enemy and you're not my enemy.
Our common enemy is central fascist government run by criminal bankers. They are the cause of all wars. This above all..

It's the wrong argument to be having.
The UK has 20 something seats in the house of lords that can only be held by bishops; yet christian groups exert less influence on legislature than in the US.
If religious leaders give public support to candidates and churches donate money to campaigns and lobbyists, they are going to exert influence in direct proportion to the amount of votes they gain a candidate.
You are arguing over what colour to paint the house, whilst ignoring the dry rot and subsidence.Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!
The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.

Well, the irony is only among those who are religious fanatics, radical evangelicals, etc...You'd be surprised how many moderate Christians there are who agree with you. I do know what you're referring to though, some people who on the one hand are appalled by how many of the middle eastern countries are governed tightly connected to religious rules/Sharia Law, and on the other hand feel that our government should support and adhere to Christian ''principles.'' Double standards will always exist, I guess.
Always exercise your right to vote. lol

Im referring to the fanatics. I think most religious people in the US regardless of their religion respect the separation of church and state. 90% of my friends and family are theists (mainly muslim and christian) so I would be friendless if I believed otherwise
LOL Hottastanian... I like that. Women always ask about my ethnic background.. next time Im just gonna say "What am I? I'm Hottastanian baby"Sept of Baelor was an inside job. Wildfire can't melt stone masonry.
