Hi guys. I'm a 14 years old, weigh 130 lbs and I am 5ft 10in tall. I weighed around about 155-160 lbs back in late December. I started taking my training and nutrition slightly more seriously in March due to me being unhappy with my 'skinny fat' aesthetic. I reverse dieted for a bit to 2400 calories from about 1700 (which always filled me up) in order to get my metabolism at a steady rate and began slowly declining my caloric intake down to 1900. It's only recently that I have been happy with my body fat levels (I don't have a percentage) but I can see my ribs and feel my hips and shoulder blades but only my abs when I tense. I feel perfectly healthy and fit but my family and friends say I'm looking really skinny. I have a decent amount of arm and shoulder definition but my chest and abs are really lacking. Do you suggest that I lean bulk in order to fill out my physique?
Apologies for the lack of detail and measurements but it'd be great if I could be given some advice from someone more experienced than me. Thanks for reading.

Well defined abs come from 2 things- Low body fat and abdominal muscles.
Since you are 130 pounds, and 5'10" I doubt you need less body fat.
Start eating more, lifting hard and add more muscle mass to your frame- bulk for 4 or so years and take full advantage of the hormones you have, you could be beast mode by 18 easily.
Worry less about abs, you can get them later and it would be far better for you to enjoy the growth of youth (and all the good/usually free food) while you can.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

Yo bro.
I'm 5 foot 10 as well, and I started out at 130 lbs as the point you are now. I've been working out seriously for 1 year now, and I'm up to 155 lbs with some good definition as well as low body fat %. I've never been a heavy eater, I eat smaller portions several times a day instead. You shouldn't focus on your abs at this point as you are skinny, and to build muscle, you need to gain weight. What I did was, I ate the regular breakfast, lunch, proteinshake, dinner and a snack on the evening (usually peanuts as I don't like peanut butter), and then I started adding a mutant mass gainer shake (only half the portion due to the thick consistency) which was 500 kcals extra a day. Doing this, and day by day increasing the amount I ate on my meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), I gained 20 lbs on just a few months, without gaining any significant amount of fat.
Hope this helped bro!

Thanks for the advice man! It's nice to hear an example. I might enter a lean bulking stage where I eat in a surplus on my four days of training but eat maintenance on my rest days as I find I gain fat quite easily and still want to be lean. Will that stall progress at all or should I just eat in a surplus all week?
