    Thanks for your answers.

    I feel like I've hit my lats and biceps so much harder with pullups, than when I do some crazy heavy weight on lat pulldown. Maybe because pullups are such a natural movement.

    I thought that, but given that you do 30+ reps over the course of a w/o, with relatively short rest time I wasn't sure. It's probably the best way of improving.

    Never really do them body weight, but the last time I did them while the squat rack was in use I did 25. I chose to stop there but if there was some kind of competition or reason to do more I know I could have done more.

    Make sure you get the reps in. Only doing 2 at a time wont wear you out.

    If I do 30 it will usually look like sets of 10, 5, 5, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, or something like that. Make sure I get good quality reps for every rep.

    I do something similar, but I go normal pullups (3 sets) to neutral grip pulls ups (2), to chin ups (2).

    I typically do them as a warm up to back days. Start with body weight then add a 25lbs weight then a 45lbs weight. As far as how many to do before you start adding weight that's up to you. I got bored being able to bang out a bunch, so I started adding weight to challenge myself.

    I looked it up. Do they really only have to do 3? I can do 4 in my first set, then it dwindles from there. Just bought a doorway pull-up bar so I can do pull-ups throughout the day, and hopefully increase that number.

    I would assume this isn't for front line soldiers. It would be ludicrous to have, e.g. someone providing cover fire to you (man or women) who wasn't fit/strong enough.
