Hey guys I was trying to figure something out. I know a lot of people say that making your own weight gainer shake is the best way to go. But I make one now and it seems to cause me to lose weight or speed up my metabolism. It consist of :
2 tbs of peanut butter
2 cups of milk
1 bananna
1/2 cup of oats
Calories: 1005
Protein: 64g
Carbs: 117g
Fat: 36g
Would it be best to use a store bought one or none at all?
Also what is the best way to figure out my macros?

1. Weight gainers are garbage. Save your supplement money for supps that are actually useful. E.g. multis, fish oil, whey, etc.
2. Ingredients for a weight gainer shake should mostly consist of foods that are calorie dense and fit your macros.
3. To figure out your macros, read the stickies:

or use an online calc.:

If you're losing weight, then you still don't have enough calories throughout the day. It doesn't matter whether your shake has 500 or 1,000 calories if you're still in a deficit.
Add more to the shake and/or eat more throughout the day.
As a ballpark guess, I could see that shake (minus the protein powder) being about 700 calories. It's about progress, not perfection.
I'm not an expert when it comes to most aspects of life; sometimes, I have no idea what I'm doing. The more I learn, the more I can do, and the more I can pay it forward and help others.
