Since much of what i learned about Cuba was from books in school and always skewed negative, i wonder if this is a big deal to you? I will plan a trip in the future and wonder what folks here think about Cuba? Will you visit?

Read that. Similar to Iran, the people are wonderful, but it's the government that is the problem. Very oppressive. Mixed feelings, because as much as we would want to help its citizens, with trade, are we really only helping its controlling government?
But, I would travel to Cuba and I would never travel to Iran.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

I would love to visit Cuba, but not Iran. Iran can't look to much different than Iraq

True story, bros.
My second coach was Chinese. He visited Cuba 2 years ago. He is built like a typical Asian - skinny and feminine looking. He said that when he was in Havanna, many Cuban males tried to pick him up cu they thought he was ghey. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
So moral of the story: if you visit Cuba, make sure you are fat or jacked, and look like a real man so you won't get propositioned by the local maricons. This above all..
To thine ownself be true..
And it must follow, as the night the day..
Thou can'st not then be false to any man..

Uncle Fidel and communism aside, Cuba has one rich culture. The food and music alone would be worth the visit! Off the Cuban coast there are still untouched, pristine waters with all of the amazing plant and animal life that goes with it. Some of the most untouched and undisturbed aquatic ecosystems in the world. LOL Most people I meet think I'm Cuban. Well, if they hear me speaking Spanish. I'd love to visit one day.
