Unflavored bcaa's are the best in regards to price per serving, using the term effective loosely but what might differentiate them in that regard would be potential other added ingredients.

since I don't want to start a new thread, I'll just ask on this one. Since I'm a teenager and still growing, should I track my macros or should I just eat everything in sight? And should I stay as far away from "unclean foods" as possible or just eat whatever it takes to be in a caloric surplus.

Awesome you are actually asking about eating.

Depends on your goals...but either way I would not sit there any eat everything in sight. I'd try to eat as clean as possible, but you don't need to be real strict if you are looking to put on some size.

I'd keep track of your macros just for good practice.

"Unclean foods" still have macros, horrible macros if you are referring to 'junk food'. It's alright to eat 'junk food' in moderation if it fits your macros. Honestly, I would recommend being in a caloric surplus at your age. You are GROWING! This is the best time. If you want to track your macros, go on ahead, but it would not hurt if you spilled over.

The thing is I've tracked macros in the past and I've found it to be very time consuming to measure all my foods and difficult since my mom makes half of the food I eat. Is it a must for a teenager to track macros if he doesnt want to put on too much fat?

No. . it is NOT a must.
An alternative choice is to simply eat clean foods and keep track of your physique weekly (or bi-weekly).

    So are you saying
if I'm looking a bit fatty and bloated one week, I should cut back a bit the next week?

If you eat plenty of protein, you automatically get plenty of BCAAs by default because protein is made up of them.

At age 16 you really shouldn't be worried about taking supplements.
