    The Bulk

    So a quick question

I am new to bodybuilding (not weight lifting) and have currently been on a bulking cycle for about 12 weeks, currently about 195lbs morning weight at 6-6ft 1 in height.

I dont need to be in peak shape till december however i am wondering should i keep bulking till i am 6 weeks out as thats a lot of bulking or should i do a mini cutting cycle in between

Also at 195-200lbs i still kinda look small for my frame. What would be a solid amount to be aiming for as a peak bulk weight before cutting

I know these are very open ended questions but ball park ideas would be very appreciated

    Thanks in advance

when you bulk it has to be for an extended period of time i.e 12 months or longer not a few weeks.

I can't help you because your goals are conflicting.

But if you forget about looking for peak conditioning by december, I would do this:

Bulk for 12 months - aim for 1 kg per month - cut - enjoy.

most ppl are going to be unsuccessful at bulking for 12months. most ppl are chasing weight on the scale and then end up getting waaaaaay too fat. for the small percentage of ppl 12 months is still quite a while to bulk (keeping it lean) but it would definitely provide some good results.

    reasons for mini cut:

    1. have gone overboard on "bulk" in which you should rethink your bulking strategy
    2. insulin sensitivity has turned to garbage and you want to lower your carbs for a while in order to get more out of your cals for later
    3. and finally if your appetite has gone to nothing due to being at high cals for so long and you simply have to give your stomach a break, in which you can also capitalize on increasing insulin sensitivity and shedding some unwanted bf (usually my issue)
