One positive, assuming:
1) Kai doesn't compete
2) He is going to continue
Is that in order to be at the Mr O next year he has to qualify. Kai at the Arnold Classic anyone?

Kai might guest pose at the iHeartRadio Music Festival (18~19 September).
_
He now has a supplement company, he's on ESPN and now might appear in a Musical Festival.
Strong coverage of all platforms.
inb4 he goes into acting (other than the movie with Tony Freeman, and Pumping Iron)Last edited by RoroCwalker; 09-15-2015 at 03:57 PM.

Damn Kai's scooping up every sponsorship/promotion that comes his way
We will be able to gauge whether he was avoiding competing at the O because he wasn't ready prep wise, by how he looks here at leastCourage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgement that something is more important than fear; The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all.

That's given that he remained on his diet.
It's still 3~4 days away.

The show won't be the same without Kai, but he has nobody to blame but himself.
I doubt Phil will help Kai, not because he's a dbag but because it would be foolish to waste time and energy with distractions during the last week of a 1 year prep for the most important bodybuilding contest in the world.

Agreed.
I can see it go terrible, but I can also see it going well.
Seeing a monster-physique, popping on stage with some heavy rock music could be well-received.
It doesn't necessarily have to be a full guest posing routine, a short appearance could be enough.
Something like this popping out to some heavy music.

What is there to be excited about when you already know the outcome?
There's still hope to save this year from going down as one of the worst O's of all time, either by having Kai showing up outta no where last minute or giving the sandow to Rhoden or a conditioned RamyCourage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgement that something is more important than fear; The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all.

So basically, here's what went down:
1. Kai wanted a booth at the olympia expo to sell his new supplement line (obviously)
2. The expo officials tried to deny Kai a booth because the other supp companies/athletes didn't want him at the expo, knowing that he's the most popular bodybuilder in the world and his booth would be outrageously lucrative, thus cutting into the profit margins of all the other athletes/supp companies who have paid for their booths
3. Kai tried to bargain/negotiate with the officials. It eventually got to the point where Kai said he wouldn't compete in the Olympia if they didn't let him have a booth
4. They are basically trying to bury Kai, get him kicked out of the IFBB and all expos because he's become so popular that he poses a threat to their profits

Well the only thing we do know is that there were negotiations taking place before the contract signing. We do not know which party was being unreasonable with their demands. However I wouldn't be so quick to automatically blame it on Kai, especially when you take into account the IFBB's history of shady dealings with athletes in the past. In my experience I am much more inclined to trust athletes rather than the words of promoters or federation heads.
I also don't think it would take Phil too much time or effort to post up a quick instagram video or something of him asking the heads of the IFBB to let Kai in the competition for the good of the sport. At the very least it would give him some positive public exposure.

Sure that would be good. But like I said the main Olympia storyline is Kai vs Heath. Also Phil will most definitely be extremely hated if or when he wins the Olympia. So it would be particularly in his best interests to do it. Finally he has more status than the other IFBB pro's since he is the reigning Mr. Olympia so his word would mean a lot more than if some random IFBB pro were to say something.

if you were phil heath, or any of the other athletes, would you WANT Kai Greene at the olympia & olympia expo, knowing that he's going to place higher than you and cut into your share of profits at the expo due to his following and popularity?
Let's be serious for a second, they are probably quietly relieved that Kai is not competing. I mean for wolf or rhoden this means a second place and an extra $50,000 on their check

Because a lot of people were hoping for Kai to beat Phil. A lot of people will be willing to believe that the IFBB are protecting Phil by taking Kai out of the competition for stupid reasons. Now I'm not saying this is necessarily what is happening, all I am saying is that this is what many people will end up believing should Phil win with Kai out of the competition. Especially since people were already angry that the judges refused to put Kai next to Phil last year. At the end of the day Phil needs the good will of bodybuilding fans if he wants to make money from his supplement line.
