I'm the exact opposite with the Hulk. I never paid any attention until I happened to see one in the case while shopping with a friend. I was blown away by it and had to buy it. The new kermit is confusing to me. The best part of the Hulk is the dial, and that's the one thing they got rid of. It's a sunburst, and Rolex actually used to call it "green gold" because it has a gold hue to it in certain lighting. I think I read there were some legal issues with them calling it gold and they had to stop using the name.

After some more thought I decided I'm gonna hold onto my sub. Every time I pull it out and look at it I really think it's a beautiful piece. And tbh if I sold it for 10k, I'd probably never in a million years be able to get any of the watches I'm after at retail. Will just continue saving up for now for the future BLNR. And who knows how the market will be a year from now? Maybe it'll be more affordable on the grey market, and Rolex will start pumping those badboys out more once the pandemic stuff settles down.
I'll just have to live vicariously thru you guys for awhile.Last edited by Unstumpable; 03-08-2021 at 06:26 PM.

Based on your posts, I think you should sell it. 10.5k right now might be the peak, and I only suggest this because it seems like you've never quite bonded with it. Take a small loss on it, which in the watch world is pretty much nothing, and put it towards something you really want. I also don't know if this is the peak, but TT yellow gold is probably the last to rise in price when the market changes.

And just like that I'm considering it again. lol
The black strap really did make it a lot more wearable for me. I think I'll still wear it and enjoy it, also having a splash of gold on a watch might be nice for certain occasions.. At the same time I see what you're saying completely about second guessing it more than one generally would with one of their watches. I'm expecting a call back from a local jewelry store who buys preowned Rolex tomorrow. Depending on what he offers I might get rid of it. But if he quotes me under 10k I'm not selling it. On chrono 24 the cheapest I'm seeing is around 13k.

I just checked crown and caliber again and now the estimate for my watch is 11k. So it’s went up since a week ago. I submitted the form and they’re supposed to send me a fully insured mailing slip. So we’ll see how this goes.
If a watch gets lost in the mail and it’s insured id get the money back for what I paid for the watch right?

Give it a shot. I watched whichever the one they were recommending (1+ hour ones) and enjoyed it and thought hmm I wonder what caused that in the episode...then I started watching them in reverse order before just starting at the beginning. I think they are at episode 8 for this year. Might as well start at ep 1.

I can't find this watch in a complete set. Seller says he has the box and manual but no authentication papers. What do brahs? Would you buy a watch without papers?

Part of all the frustration lately with Rolex and my AD closing has been making me look again at a RO and calling the watch collection done.
No way in hell im getting the 41mm dinner plate version and think the 37mm would wear perfectly on my wrist.
Anyone aware of how the process works comparatively with AP? Ive read some anecdotal evidence that they are at least a little better about being honest with you, but even the 15450 in blue dial is easily a year wait....but im not sure if thats actually real or am i going to be dropping coin on chit i dont want? Think with this model is the gray dials look 10/10 as well.MFC

That particular Aqua Terra model looks to be at least 4 years if not 6 years old.
EDIT: Did some research that's a 2007 model. I'm assuming you like the color scheme which is cool if that's the case, but there's no way in fuk i'd pay 3000 to 3500 for a 13 year old AT, when you can get a 2020 on the grey market for 4 to 4.5k all day long.
Yeah for real, and here's one of the private sellers putting one up that looks mint (2020 warranty card) at $10,700. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=787994
That's the equivalent of 6% sales tax basically. Only reason i'm not jumping on something like this is because i gave strong interest to my AD quite-recently, and she mentioned she was going to work hard to get it for me. I want to giver her 8 to 12 full weeks to source one before i tell her to forget it and go grey. I'd hate to buy one grey, and then get "the call" from her a week later.
I've expressed ITT that i like the sundust but was going to move to the SS blue dial due to my annoyance with the rare showing of the sundust color. However after being in miami for a few months, I'm definitely put off on the TTs because that just seems to be the "joe-blow" model. Was in a shopping mall and saw like 3 in the same trip. I was like yeah fuk this lolLast edited by W1LLW; 03-15-2021 at 11:25 AM.

So this is what im thinking. I know i like both the BLNR and that DJ. So that puts me in the 30k territory long term already....which....is what the 15450 even in blue is going for on grey market. The gray dial is even less, but still a slight premium.
But....seeing multiple posts and discussion on various forums and in other parts of my life about how everything seems to be in a bubble lately, part of me thinks a lot of these inflated prices for many brands will come back to normalcy here soon. I could be wrong, but if every sort of collectible "thing" and high value investments like real estate are just going bananas....i see a bubble happening.MFC

How many people here are looking for the DJ41 fluted jubilee in blue? I am picking mine up this weekend, but honestly, I might sell it (can't cancel because it was a "custom order").

I bought my submariner with the original box but no papers. I genuinely don't care about the papers, I just want a watch that isn't fake (which I know Rolex well enough that I'm confident my sub isn't fake). The papers are worth another $500-1000. You can re-sell the watch at a higher price with the papers. From an investment standpoint, there isn't any difference in having the papers (since the $1k I saved can go into stocks which will make up any financial difference between owning the watch with/without papers). I wear my watch nearly everyday, but I wouldn't be looking at the papers more than maybe once or twice. Overall, its inconsequential to me, I really only care about the watch and maybe the box.
I'd say most people looking at the DJ41 (srs) that seems to be the most desirable configuration by far
