Tried on a Polar Explorer II in person and was very underwhelmed. Considering the Seadweller 43 now as it's a lot more interesting than a sub with the monochrome dial. Finding a display model in stock to try on has been an exercise in futility. The overall Rolex experience has been pretty ****ty...I'm not buying 20k in trinkets for an "opportunity" to buy a ****ing sports watch lol

I think this may be finally coming to roost. I dont mind a little bit of a markup and at least going in and chatting with a SA once or twice to get the feel for not being a flipper. But spending $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for just the entry watches is full retard.

What are the chances of a BB58 holding its value or appreciating over time?

no chance IMO. obviously they will hold their value to some extent, but they are still depreciating pretty heavily. and they're also so popular that you're never going to have it appreciate based on scarcity.

no because the bronze watches are very niche, also they develop patina and become more dull looking in a matter of months. some people like the patina look but it's just not something that's going to appeal to a broader audience.

Nomos makes really good watches. But the best under $10k is a bit laughable. They aren't even the best under $10k in their home city. Glashutte Original makes a ton of absolutely incredible watches around that price. Put Nomos to shame.

Got offered this today. Was hard, but I passed.



Have been waiting for the blue SkyDweller for a year now. The white just didn't feel like it would scratch the itch. And it's too similar to my silver dial datejust.

My AD said she'd keep looking for the blue and that she didn't blame me, but wanted to give me a chance.

Oh well.

I went to a dealer for VC today and inquired about the overseas. Wasn't aware Rolex was a 3rd/4th tier brand, I knew it wasn't as good as Patek/AP/VC but didn't know it was that low on the list.

Supposedly the blue VC overseas is a one year wait. Not bad at all. Won't be buying it immediately but in a few years I would love to own that watch. The blue dial is the most beautiful in the entire watch market supposedly, and I love the bracelet style as well.

I'm looking to potentially pick up a SD43 later this year. Not sure where you're located, but it shouldn't be super difficult to find one to try on. At least from what I've seen/heard, demand for the SD43 is nowhere close to the Sub/GMT/Daytona demand. Maybe it helps that I have a friend that is a good customer and sends people in the direction of the store manager he introduced me to, but I've basically been told a SD43 is waiting for me whenever I decide to pull the trigger. I don't think I'm special enough for that to be the case unless they're relatively easy to come by.

I agree with you that it's more interesting and unique than the Sub, and it's less in demand, all of which appeals to me. Hoping I can justify the expenditure in a few months' time. Good luck in your search.
