Adding onto this, Rolex has different magnification for their cyclopses. Or it's at least suspected that they do.

To me, the rolex in question looks to be genuine. The lume pip and indices, along with the crownguards appear to be those of a genuine Rolex.

They have had some quality control issues on their cyclops recently. It's not something that really jumps out at you unless you are comparing two side by side. They take something like this very serious, however at the time they couldn't say hey it was on these watches that went to these places, so they instructed us if we found any we could send them back for replacements. I remember GMT's and Subs being the most commonly reported ones. Source: I was at the Rolex repair center in Dallas a couple months back for training. I highly doubt very many got sent back, just because if you're like me and have a BLNR and you take it out to send it off to be replaced, you may not see another one for months due to the popularity of that model.
As far as I know that was a recent issue and not one that had been ongoing or anything like that so I'm not speaking on the one the guy posted pics of, mainly clarifying what was discussed on that thread you posted.
Edit: It is supposed to magnify 2.5x, and I believe the faulty ones were maybe doing 1 or 1.5x.60% of the time I rep back everytime

not very discrete but....
look at a standard 116509 and 116519 (not redials). those are more than 15k but not much more. see if you like those dial combos better
another watch a 15400 2nd hand would only be about 12k, 15300 even less. a 15202 might cost you closer to 17k 2nd hand but you may have a hard time finding 1 near by since they are more seldom resold.
2nd hand ROO 26470 or a later serial 26170 can be had for 15k.
at 15k and under new, you dont have many options unfortunately. new SS daytona. New 15400 or 15300. That white gold sub will cost you more than 15k think, i believe that blue bezel/dial sub only comes in white gold. unless you get a redial, which you might want to completely avoid buying unless you know the seller.
if you absolutely want a discrete watch (and cost as close to 15k as possible), i suppose a 15400 or 15300 would be your best betLast edited by waisoserious; 08-07-2015 at 05:34 PM.

thank you!
personally if I were to spend 15k on a watch right now, i might throw in 1 or 2k more and get a 2nd hand 116509 or 116519 on leather.
a 26320 new is around 18k (maybe a little less if you can get more discount). 2nd hand around 16-17k depending on how used. if you dont expect to receive the box and papers it can cost even less, but i wouldnt buy anything over 5k that doesnt have box and papers.IW3725-04, Black 116520, White 26320

i wanna warn you 1st. if you are getting a 15400 or 15300 it doesnt really matter. but if you are getting a ROC pick carefully. the black dial looks like it has white markers and the white dial looks like it has black markers but its actually the chrome catching the light in the pictures. the black dial doesnt really show textures in bright settings while the white dial just beams. but even after i bought the white, i considered trading for a black dial until i saw it in person and realized id rather have white and to put it on leather to give it that color contrast.
what i mean is, it looks alot different in person. dont think just cause you saw the white dial that you think u know what the black dial looks like on your wrist. you dont lol. so yea make sure you see both before you pay for it. cause once you do, its used and you cant trade it straight upIW3725-04, Black 116520, White 26320
