I didn't graduate to a rolling suitcase until like 12 years ago. But seriously, yea, the old long underwear that was itchy and not even all that warm is ridiculous compared with cozy fleece lined stuff and thin but warm layers. Comfortable base layers... that don't even look like underwear make this much more pleasant. I got some under armour base layers and nike warm and hyperwarm. They're pretty toasty. I checked out the jackets. Lifetime warranty is impressive. Wouldn't you say, though, you're warm because you have good temperature regulation? I'll try some Arc'teryx.
ETA: You reminded me of that saying... there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Or something to that effect. heh
Are you working on your table yet?Last edited by critterbug; 12-27-2016 at 08:29 AM.

^^^ my temperature regulation isn't bad but it's not awesome either. My fingers, toes, and ears don't like the cold even a little. I'll be running with no shirt on and a beanie just to keep the wind out of my ears. The rest of my body, when it starts getting cold I make sure I don't dress too warm too fast so I climatize. But +30 in the summer and -30 in the winter is still a tough swing no matter what.
As for Arc'teryx, I'm a big fan and supporter but unless you actually intend on being outside in the elements it's not worth it. The first rainy hike when you're dry as a bone makes it all worth it. The parka I have is $1000+ retail, but I have a thing with finding deals so I usually pick my my Arc'Teryx 40-50% off.
Haven't started my table and don't know if I'll be able to this winter. We have a Volkswagen TDI so after they announced the USA buyback offer we parked it in the garage. Going to end up getting more than we paid for it 100000 miles and several years ago, so wanted to keep it off the road (insurance would have given us 20% of the value if it got wrecked). Means my garage is pretty full up for now, and I don't want all the dust in my basement because it will get piped through the house. Car should be gone in April so maybe then I can start.1175 @172

I can only think of once or twice when I've had to stay up that long and never twice in a row. My husband is a leo and when he worked nights he'd stay up the first day of his weekend so he could have a normal day off. Then he'd only sleep a few hours before going back on his "Monday." I understand why you do it but it still wears on you.

I go to one of the nicest gyms in the city and the new people have destroyed it already... 80% of equipment is missing or misplaced, all bars remained racked, stuff all over the floor, water bottles everywhere, etc. But, by far the worst thing for me is dealing with the egos of people who have been curing for 2-3 months and now have brought their fat friends. Just right out of control.
I actually made a resolution this year. First one ever. Me and the wife have to do 1 thing that we've never done before each month (in terms of an activity, etc).1175 @172

That feel when you hear a repetitive sound outside and realize someone is unloading a clip and you are grabbing your kid off the couch and hitting the floor.
they were pretty much done shooting by the time we got down and then someone sped away.
don't know how close it was but police just taped the street in front of 3 houses starting with my house. police taping off half my driveway and searching it.
WTF?!?
17yrs here and nothing like that has happened before.
no idea what happened for sure either.
Best I could gather from the neighbor who saw it that was talking to the 6 police who showed up literally <1 min after i heard the neighbor outside screaming into his phone was someone was shooting at someone else and someone sped off in a car and someone ran around the corner.
Listening to the police scanner and it sounds like they found a car with a bullet hole and are surrounding a guy in a hoodie who is hiding in an ally a few blocks from my house.
edit: they appear to be looking for bullets under my neighbors hood a good 75ft away from the house so was not as close as i originally thought.Last edited by NitrogenWidget; 01-10-2017 at 06:35 PM.
