Decided to go strictly high bar for a bit and take care of the shoulder pain. It's actually shoulder and a little of my left bicep, still carrying over from the previous workout so I saved the pendlay rows and arms for later in the week.
I typically pause anything 3 reps and under, but after one single rep it felt real heavy. Not sure if it would be more beneficial for me to adjust the load and pause em or just do what I did. Either way, got more sets in with a heavy weight than I've ever done, so just made sure to get rest in between.
High Bar Squat
295 x 6 *3
Bench
250 x 3,3,3,2
240 x 3
Here's a shot from the wedding last weekend. Got to play everything from Gershwin to some new opera music that was really challenging. The singer was from Bosnia and a damn powerhouse.
Met up with the boys at our old stomping grounds, the 99 after a 3 hour birthday nap lol. Was totally unintentional. But had some boneless wings and this Oreo ice cream/brownie thing on the house
I gotta say too, I've learned so much by just looking in the mirror and listening to my body when thinking long term weight gain. I pretty much can take my fats and carbs down a touch for one or two days after a really big meal out and maintain. And I don't obsess about it anymore either, which is the biggest thing for me. If I feel like adjusting a day or two, cool. If not, I just move on.

Haha yeah man. For the last few years I strayed due to the fat content (don't even mention having a free meal, didn't know those existed).
After college and we all were back home we used to always hit up different wing nights. Not like the .60/wing "specials" at some places, like 5 cent wings and we'd just hammer em haha

Pushdowns w/ Rope

Met up with a couple friends for dinner and a cigar in Saratoga. Went with the steak dip & sp fries.

Oh, beef dips, I remember you well....
You a cigar aficionado or just once in awhile? Think the last I had was an old, stale Backwoods at New Years. Bittersweet way of celebrating, let me tell ya.You may not be where you want to be, but a lot of people would love to be where you are. Keep pushing.

Glad I got all the deadlift sets in. Jaclyn I went together for this one, and I moved some arms and whatnot to the next session to make the time work.
High Bar Squat
315 x 1 *6
Bench
215 x 1 *4
DL
405 x 3 *5
Jaclyn is moving on up at work! Been training to become the VP of her company and her role starts tomorrow. Awesome opportunity, not to mention the help it's going to do in saving for a home. I took her out for celebratory Mexican food...she convinced me to get the rice with my meal and fried ice cream after.
Also had a friend in town so we got together to try a new game. I actually won (he and I tied, winning the game in the same turn) which is unheard of. They're all way smarter than me, but come on Nuns on the Run! Right up my alley.

JP come on man diet dew! You know me
Jared I'm with you dude. Dieting for so long especially after discovering the "wonderful" macro counting just messed me up to be honest.
Also, pretty rough workout yesterday. I'll probably post it up here later. The whole shoulder/elbow/bicep pain thing has just gotten old, granted it's only been a few weeks. I know I'm blessed. It's just frustrating not really knowing what's causing it and every little troubleshoot face planting

Been off the boards for a few days. Got a chance to talk with Eric and just sharing a lot of frustration. I'm taking this deload week even a little lighter than planned. I'm just super fatigued from all these hot days outside with the kids and then going straight to the gym. For the final two weeks of camp, I'm going to put 2 training days on Saturday/Sunday, and then actually go down to Albany super early in the am and get the other two in before camp starts. It's only a few workouts and I think that might be fun. Also been given the advice to adjust volume by one set on all movements any days where I'm super fatigued from life. So if I'm feeling great and planned on benching 5 triples, do it. If I'm honestly not, keep that days intensity, but get in 4 sets.
Also, I brought the weight class/weight cut up to Eric as well and decided I'm not going to worry about making any class. Raw nationals or not, this is just another meet for me to bring my best performance and hang with awesome friends. I'm around 167-168 these days and even if I'm right there in a few months, I'm committing now to not dropping to 163. One day if I have a shot at a qualifying wilks for a meet like the Arnold or something like that, I'll maybe consider the benefits but for right now I'm just going to focus on sound, safe technique and getting stronger.

Hope everything gets better for you dude.
On another bad note for you, if you qualify for one class in USAPL for nats you need to compete in that class. (last I heard anyway)β β β RSP Nutrition Lead Representative β β β

Well keep it up! I'm hoping seeing this balance and "have fun" attitude will rub off!
Agree with this 100%, though still having trouble getting to the point where I properly apply it to life and, despite prepping for a competition, don't spend so much time fretting over the minutiae of having a meal later than i'd like or a training session that isn't ideal. You may not be where you want to be, but a lot of people would love to be where you are. Keep pushing.
