http://news.yahoo.com/three-old-texa...211132391.htmlA 3-year-old Texas boy who shot himself at a Houston-area home over the weekend died on Monday from the wound, officials said.
The boy's grandparents were babysitting him and had put him down for a nap. They later heard a gunshot and found the boy had shot himself, police said.
"When they went in to check on him, he had apparently located a .380 semiautomatic pistol that was in the bedroom and had apparently accidentally shot himself in the head," Sergeant Ben Beall of the Harris County Sheriff's Office was quoted as saying by broadcaster KHOU.
A grand jury will investigate the case that took place in Spring, north of Houston, to see if anyone will face charges over the incident.

Youza plum fukcin' fool if you don't have the common sense to put your gun(s) away when you have children in the home. Or at least, put a trigger guard on the damn thing.

I dont really know how guns work being english and all, but cant you just leave the clip out and next to the gun and just load it up when theres a burglar in the house. wouldn't that take a second to do?
why keep it loaded is what im saying.Because in my non-expert opinion, you don't hate yourself because you have low self-esteem, or because other people were mean to you. You hate yourself because you don't do anything.

.380s are generally small, pocket pistols with limited capacity. Keeping a round in the chamber is a 12-20% increase in capacity for most of them. Pistols are really weak, and do a poor job of incapacitating criminals. Chances are that you're going to need every round you've got if you ever have to actually fire a pocket gun.
In addition, Grandma and Grandpa's fine motor skills, at night, under adrenaline in the seconds they have during a home invasion to arm themselves are probably not good enough to load a mag, rack the slide, and fire.
This is why keeping a round in the chamber is smart, however, you have to recognize that there's a 3 year old in the house, and not leave them in the room, alone, with an unlocked, loaded gun.
