I knew others who did it
I don't really enjoy it. The moneys great, working it the hot sun and freezing winter sucks. It also takes a toll on your body. I'll probably keep doing it because I probably couldn't make that much doing anything else.USMC 95-2000
Do or do not, their is no try! (I made this up myself)

Project Control Specialist in the Alberta oilsands
Just over one year with the company, five months in this position. Currently wrapping up my first project.
$95k roughly before bonuses w/ benefits and matched 5% RRSP
Went to school, met the GM and project managers at our industry night. Interviewed, started working as a Junior Estimator, was offered this field position.
Loving it. Gunning for Project Management in the future.

Software Engineer.
Five years.
$105k + elite tier benefits and working from home.
I taught myself programming from a few books, got my first job at a local startup where I had no idea what I was doing, used that experience to get a better job, and kept going from there. Faked it til I made it.
Yes, and I'm hoping to step up into a leadership position in my industry soon. Maybe I'll end up with some sweet stock options and go full Bilzerian.Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.
