Who here also prefers to DL in Oly shoes?

Im sure I am a one in a thousand case. But I pull about 20-30 lbs more in a Oly shoe then barefoot or a low profile shoe. Anybody else experience this? Its just weird since Im adding a extra 3/4 of a inch to my ROM.

My friend does this. I think it's weird AF but it works for him.

You are not alone. Prefer Adidas Powerlift 2.0s on DL days. I feel that the extra added height feels better on my left knee because I have Osgood Schlatterʻs Disease on that knee. I also donʻt feel as much back fatigue after deadlifting in the Powerlifts. Could be placebo, but thatʻs how I feel.

I do, allows me to use more quads into the initial movement thus more speed off the floor.

I've tried it, liked it, actually felt like ROM decreased. But I didn't want to become dependent on them, once i switched back I had a hard time readjusting. Go for it but tread warily.

My boyfriend likes this too...he describes the benefit as "being able to get his knees farther forward in the starting position" which I guess means more help from quads but I'm not sure.

For me, I can't seem to get past that "bar wants to go perpendicular to the surface I'm pushing from" feeling with heels no matter what I try so I prefer them flat...

I believe they give me more speed off the floor as well. If I can get the weight past my shins, I have no problem locking it out.

Used to pull barefoot, now I love pulling in OL shoes.
