Learning Hook Grip Dealift-Worth it for me?

Tried Hook Grip Deads for the first time. Didn't manage much before my thumps started hurting too much.
    100kg(220lbs)x3, added chalk 100kgx5 than 110kg(240x3)

    With other grips I do:

    Mixed Grip 150kg(330lbs)x5
Double Overhand 130kg(286lbs)x5, maybe more since this was during warm ups.

How long will it take to get accumstomed to the Hook Grip? Will it catch up with my Double Overhand grip or would I be better off doing this, since it's so far ahead already?

I like hook grip. It took me about 2 to 3 weeks of practice to get comfortable with it. And if I am planning on doing a lot of hook grip work in a training session, I'll use tape on my thumbs.

When I started with it, I used it during warm-ups for deadlift and also things like RDL.

As for is it worth it, the hook grip can be valuable if you ever want to get into the olympic lifts.

I guess I wll keep training Hook Grip if it only takes a few weeks, but stay off the tape at first. Is this the perfect Hook Grip form?

    Bump.

Deadlifted again today. Insanely hot summer weather and seaty hand made it impossible to keep my grip on the bar. Chalk was washed away from my hand in half of the set.

Again 110x3 before the pain got too much.
Than Double Overhand only 120x4 before my super sweaty hand slid off.

Why do you need to hook grip?

Your back and legs are stronger than your wrists so why would you use a grip that limits the amout of weight you can use? Use the grip your strongest with!

I prefer a mixed grip personally

There's nothing wrong with mixed grip. Just switch up the hand directions between sets.
