Just walked in the door after driving home from Seattle, where we were sitting in a suite over third base watching the Mariners beat the Blue Jays in extra innings this afternoon.

Funny thing is it only needed to be a double play until Carrera fell off of the base (although he grabbed the mariners player when he ran back from Home to 3rd, which is some sort of illegal move, but not sure what would've happened).

We drove by Wendy's this morning on the way to my daughter's daycare. She saw a big picture of a chicken sandwich in the window and said "dad, that sandwich needs an egg on it." I was so proud.

Damn, when it's done right, that oven-bacon is good as ****.
That was a play worth watching. I got my season's worth of baseball in right there.

I'm still current on it. The show is just kind of weird. I presume everything is supposed to be connected, but it is no where as good as season 1. Season 1 kept you wondering and on the edge of your seat. This one has become mostly boring.
There was a big shootout that involved about a dozen cops. All but the main stars die. Really? We're getting that cliche? All unnamed characters are getting waxed?
Honestly, like the only character I like (and this is opposite of most people it seems) is Vince Vaughn. I don't mind him as a gangster. Colin Farrell is fine and plays his role well, but the character isn't anything special. I'm on the fence about Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch character is too much of the tormented past, bottled anger / sensitive and hurt guy.
The only reason I want to keep watching is to see if my prediction about Vince Vaughn is mostly accurate or not.-

I thought the premiere was so mind-blowingly terrible and embarrassing in every single aspect (plot, characters, dialogue) that I stopped watching. I'd believe it if people say it got better, but only because it's incredibly difficult to sustain that level of awfulness; it doesn't happen naturally but takes serious work to be that bad.

One thing I have realized that I thoroughly enjoyed about Season 1 that you don't get in season 2 is how there were many different timelines going on. You were getting the retelling of the events by Harrelson and McConaughey in their words and also the show showing you what actually happened, etc. So you're trying to piece it all together for yourself.
This one is all just laid out in chronological order. Also, they have incorporated 4 main characters this time each with their own group of people, goals, ambitions and what not for each one and you're trying to tie it all together and it becomes very convoluted and meh.
I read this bit of trivia on the show lately and wonder what all changes were made / incorporated by the novelist:
Series creator Nic Pizzolatto wrote the entire first season by himself, without any input from a writing staff (which is unusual for a major American TV series). For the second season, he hired novelist Scott Lasser to help break stories.-

The best was to get a crispy kinda-blackened piece of bacon and stack it with a somewhat undercooked kinda yellowish-whitish fatty greasy piece of bacon. mmm mmm good
