That actually does sound like it'd be highly entertaining. About as humorous and fun as a pro sports event could be with MTV Rock n' Jock a thing of ancient history.
Yep. Baseball is smart to do the All-Star game in teh middle of the season. But the ASB is generally a bit of rest for all players (even the ones involved in it). Where adding in another full speed game would serve to only break down the bodies (and possibly bones & ligaments) even more.

True, MLB baseball players already play 4,795 games a year in a sport that causes relatively little damage to your body if you aren't a pitcher (in which case you're only on the mound once every three months to try to reduce wear and tear on the shoulder and ulnar nerves) or catcher (better start saving up for your double knee replacement). One more game is effectively meaningless.
Football, on the other hand, is super traumatic, and one extra game full-out has serious potential injury and health implications for everyone playing.***Anyone With "Crew" in Their Signature Sucks Balls Crew***

It's completely pointless. No one is watching.
I think players should just earn the distinction of being selected for a representative game that is never played, like they do here with AFL.
The All-Australian Team is an all star team of Australian rules footballers, selected by a panel at the end of each season. It represents a complete team, including interchange players and a coach, of the best performed during the season.
As no other country could assemble a senior Australian rules team of the same quality, the All-Australian team never plays a game.
What would be more interesting than a pointless exhibition in Hawaii is assembling all those players selected for interviews, meeting fans, etc. but not actually playing a game. Essentially showing off a football team that would represent the USA if it were an international sport.

Basically the whole game is in-game interviews. Selected players don't play the whole game.
"It is a fact that Dan, our New Glarus Brewmaster, loves pumpkin pie. So it was inevitable that one day beer and pie would collide. No holiday is complete at our home without home baked pumpkin pie. Just as Dan once baked this pie for Deb, he now creates this brew for you.
First, Wisconsin grown wheat simmers with fresh Wisconsin Pumpkin and German Munich Malt. Then he thoroughly stirs in Idaho grown Celeia Hops. Fresh Bavarian Weizen yeast is then ladled into the open top fermentors and a final bottle conditioning makes this beer 100% naturally carbonated. This rich brown Weisse beer pours an elegant spicy nose with a thick creamy head. This Pumpkin Weisse is sure to satisfy your soul’s Pie Lust.
Cheers!"DR. 3time

Ratings suggest it's a waste of time.
Knowing how much this competition means to you I would not object to W-6. Trolling was a guilty pleasure but I can see there are real feelings involved here. You did it hard last season. Almost racked up 10 straight to the bottom.
You're fantasy football's own Rocky Balboa.

A computer dilemma on a topic we recently discussed:
https://ricochet.com/self-driving-car-programmed-kill/
How should [a self-driving] car be programmed to act in the event of an unavoidable accident? Should it minimize the loss of life, even if it means sacrificing the occupants, or should it protect the occupants at all costs? Should it choose between these extremes at random?
Here is the nature of the dilemma. Imagine that in the not-too-distant future, you own a self-driving car. One day, while you are driving along, an unfortunate set of events causes the car to head toward a crowd of 10 people crossing the road. It cannot stop in time but it can avoid killing 10 people by steering into a wall. However, this collision would kill you, the owner and occupant. What should it do?
Is it acceptable for an autonomous vehicle to avoid a motorcycle by swerving into a wall, considering that the probability of survival is greater for the passenger of the car, than for the rider of the motorcycle? Should different decisions be made when children are on board, since they both have a longer time ahead of them than adults, and had less agency in being in the car in the first place? If a manufacturer offers different versions of its moral algorithm, and a buyer knowingly chose one of them, is the buyer to blame for the harmful consequences of the algorithm’s decisions?-

I know, but that's members of the press voting on it. A panel of former players* would carry more weight than a bunch of Stephen A. Smiths.
*I realize a few former players who are now working in the media are already voting but as far as I'm aware they don't make the full list of those voting public.Last edited by Dominik; 10-28-2015 at 10:32 AM.
