Im cutting, been cutting for a bit longer than a month so far, lost about 7-8lbs. When I started my cut I was deadlifting about 425 for triples, prob about 405 or so for sets of 5, and i pulled 475 for a 1rm. Now about a month into the cut and I've increased 5 lbs each week. Im at 420 for sets of 5 now, so up approx. 15lb on the deadlift, and I'm up about 10lb on the squat so far. The bench is decreasing however. I know that the nature of the bench is as bodyweight increases, so does the bench, as bodyweight decreases, so does the bench.
Is it normal for the deadlift and squat to increase a lot on a cut, and the bench to decrease?

I wouldnt say its normal for the squat/deadlift to increase, but I've always noticed bench is the first to stagnate/decline on a deficit. So i'd say you're ahead of the curve, just keep doing what you're doing and ride it as long as you can!

maybe you could tell us what are you running for your bench?

I also find it sadly true, based on what I see posted in these forums, that that's the stuff into which people increasingly put most of their focus." - ironwill2008

It's generally normal for all three lifts to decrease while cutting. Just be glad it's only one.
But yes, my bench is the first lift affected when I cut.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.
600/370/600 - best competition lifts.
575/330/560 - best competition lifts at 181 raw.

That is definitely normal. Only my deadlift seems to be able to increase while being at a lighter BW. I carbload (Even though I'm fat in the first place lol) before benching for a reason; it really helps a lot being heavy. Take note of how the bench world, european and american records seem to just shoot up with higher weight classes. You'll have guys who are 140 lbs. who pull 600+ raw, but the strong benchers are usually the heaviest guys.

Your squat and deadlift increasing could simply be from gaining better leverages. This seems to be more common on the deadlift than on squat or bench press. But it's definitely common to lose bench press strength from cutting. Be glad it's not all three lifts decreasing.
