Met and hiked with people most of the way. Only a few times I was alone

Not really. Some sketchy climbs here and there. Some of the water fordings in Maine were very deep

Carried 5-7 days worth of food at a time. Have to resupply in town

I'll be uploading pics over the next few days. Carried normal hiking gear. I wasnt an ultralight guy. My pack weighed 40-45lbs. I did go to fast food joints anytime they were near by. You have no idea how hard I pigged out in town. Seriously, thousands of calories in less than 30 minutes

Hardly any thru hiker will stay on the trail from start to finish. I took 14 zero days (days that I didnt hike) which meant I stayed in town at a hotel, motel or hostel.

I spent more money than most just because I had it. I honestly dont even want to know. You'll probably spend a few thousand at least on the trail

The trail is marked with white blazes on trees, you follow them the whole way

I loved going into towns. The towns are part of the experience, they're all hiker friendly towns, lots of history in some of them.

The whole trip including gear, lodging, plane ticket etc Im guessing was probably around 7500...

Losing the gains fuking sucks man. I maxed out my lifts before I started and I havent been back to the gym yet, taking a week off from any physical activity first. Im scared to see how weak I've gotten...

The JMT is suppose to be one of the most scenic trails in the world. I'd do it

I've never heard of staying in hotels or in town as cheating until you guys mentioned it here. 99% of hikers do it.

Only had one tick, it was in NY. Yeah I carried. 70lbs is a lot, yes. White Mountains was my favorite, tough climbs but amazing views, will post pics later. Don't recognize that forest name

OP I am 100% Jelly right now. I have always wanted to do that as well. But to be honest I would bring real MRE's instead of all that junk food. For ~300$ you can get a month supply of different flavors and good snacks.
